Mines up in October, and i'll be slamming 12 months on mine for the same reasons. We've all got to pay the higher prices eventually, but delaying it has to be a bonus!

    Rev limiter on 172

Rev Limiter is variable dependant on oil temp/pressure. If you had been cruising on the M3 its likely your oil would be cooler, if you gave it a bit a few times, you'd soon see 7250rpm as usual.

how many times has you clio let you down

I had my 172 three weeks when the Xenon Ballast gave up - £260. Other than that, had it 9 months now, and normal wear and tear only. Exhaust Brackets, Brakes and washer jets, and thats it!

    Guess My Repair Bill...

I got Brembo HC Discs and EBC Greens for £110 from Yozza and fitted them myself, easy way to save £100+ and better braking performance compared to standard. (knows now the brake debate may begin)

How do I make my first car a Clio?

Get no more than a 1.4, otherwise insurance will be expensive. Its more than enough for a first motor tbh.

    Steering wheel falling to bits

Mine looks "melted" on the top, the thumb grips are in perfect condition, its almost like the top half of the wheel bcos its seen more of the sun than any other part, has reacted badly to it and almost blistered! Looks shite, and feels terrible. Mines a 53 Plate 172. I never thought of...

Should I use high octae fuel

Sainsburys Super is only 97 Ron, but i've always run my 172 on it. Idling nots great on any 172, I had a tank of Tesco Super (which i think is 99) and it wasnt much better! Sainsburys is by the far the cheapest Super round here at 120.9p

    Mew XPS Laptop M1530

I'll upgrade Vista to XP1 then, see if it works. The update is avaialble to download, just not done it yet. Its a known issue with Vista only running at 3.6Gb. The 400Mb are allocated to Graphics and other resource, but when you have seperate Graphics memory what really is the point ?!

    Mew XPS Laptop M1530

I've got a Dell XPS M1530 too. Had the 4Gb Ram, not much point tbh as Vista can only run at 3.6Gb! Its a lovely bit of kit and love the biometric finger print reader.

    offered a race

I raced a V6 4 Motion over the weekend, their 204bhp IIRC, and I had the edge, they were on the power quicker, but i still managed to pull alongside and edge past, was a good race though, I could have carried so much more speed out of the roundabout and made a fool of the V6 but the Mrs was with me!
