lol the cap has a resistance of about 0.005 ohms(2.4kA at 12v) an awful lot lower than most amps thats why you have to charge them so you don't weld the power cable to them.
putting a resistor in is going to negate everything the cap is supposed to be doing
no but look at most amps outputs are measured at 14.4v
the cap will have a lower resistance than the amp so current will flow the greatest at the lowest resistance inother words the cap and not the amp
lol .7 of a volt is loads when we are talking amp out put (look here whats that 30watts diff if only 2.4volts)
and not matter where the cap is connected it will pull it away from the amp as it has a lower resistance
that is the only way to wire it up (if it is connected to vehicle electrical system it will pull power from everything)
how will diodes help?? (and they have a .7v volt drop don't you know)
it is in line with the amp power supply though? it is just extra load on the electrical system.
and after the first note of a couple of bass notes it actually takes power away from the amp
well a 1F cap holds 200J roughly @ 14v (watts = J/s)
so that will run a 1000 watt amp for a fifth of a sec But that is if discharged to 0v which it won't it will only go down to about 12.5v which means it will have about 22J which is f**k all and most of that will be lost because of the esr of...
did you not read this part;)
and yes a sub will die if you drive the amp running it in to clipping, put too much power into it. playing a freq that is below the boxes tuning freq(ported boxes only).
lol wtf are they on about
the coil has a positive tempreature co-effiency so the hotter it gets the hight the resistance thus less power going through it so less heat.
it levels off with it's max power so it won't break distort whatever.
and i sound like to me he played a pure tone through a...
effiency mate you better be running a class A if your pulling 80A
oh that is 400w output with a 75% effiency
and caps don't work (might get a little use out of a 20F one)
the amount of varnish they put on the coils it aint ever going to deform with giving it full power
running in just loosens up the suspention so it will move a little easier after it is run in
best way to run it in is give it full power from the start
it's is only that the sound changes ever so slightly after running in
it is capable of full tilt strait out of the box
your running a 400w amp, that amp is driving the sub so the sub could be a 4TW sub but will still only get the 400w from the amp which if RMS is only about 45 amps drawn from the electrical system
ground fault 99.99999999999999999% of the time
rca's and power cables next to each other making it = urban myth
hell i zip tied my rca's to my power cables and have the remote coming down the middle of the rca's and that with a peak of about 130A being drawn by the amp and i get f**k all noise
do as i say not do as i do.
no mine is just placed of the supports for the false floor:o.
this is a really bad idea and you should always properly secure(not velcro) any I.C.E that is in the boot
