if you brake one of them will you lose drive completely?
and if so how much from renault and is it fairly easy to change?
as i think my 1.6 has just killed one:S:(
yeah they are good door stops, paper weights fridge magnets well just about anything :clown:
just don't ask them to produce nice low end frequencies(sp) as they can't
well the ohms will be dependant on the speakers(most comps are 4 ohms but subs can be anywhere between 1-4 ohms)
if you get an amp with a rating @ 12v it will only be better when the engine is running (usually between 13.8v-14.4v)
could have done some damage to the brushes in the alt when you operated the main fuse, as they produce awful lot of noise when on there way out
have you double checked your earth for the amp also
no clipping is over driving the amp past it maximum output voltage so the amps output transistors are on longer because the signal multiplier thus creating a flat top to the waveform
yeah distortion = clipping whick will kill a sub as it means the amp output could be nearly double so over powering it
so there is still no proof that running a sub at full power out of the box is going to kill it
i still can't see how you are going to break the voice coil.
the only way to damage it phyisically it to get the coil to hit the back plate or get it to come out of the coil gap.
if that happens it is fuberd but that will only happen if you put massive amounts of power into it
wrong you connect them in parallel
with that config you will have .25F so less than useless.
45Ah batt means it can run at 45A for 1 hour and be discharged does stop it being able to output 500A if needed
also the caps that are in side the amp are connected to the votage rails of the psu of...
no alot of uber brainy people many years ago proved they don't work i'm just spouting their thorey:D
i may be a run of the mill spark but i understand electricity better than most(on cs) when it comes to car audio
