yeah i bought a set of dials the other day to practice on.
the needles are mounted on the shaft of a small motor that is free to move all the way around:(
because it is dc it will just move one way and stay there.
it is difficult to do just by listening (apart from subs)
have got the info telling you which ones should be the +?
cell is just a fancy way of saying battery
you were lucky.
if there was no earth at all at the it wouldnt even power on for a milli second, so it must have been finding one somewhere and the only place it the rcas
if you take the negative off your chassis and then try and power up your amp there is a very good chance it will try and find an earth through your rcas, which means its going to destroy your hu.

check your earth cable, tap it on some bar metal, should spark
if this means diconnecting anything while powered up, dont do it
sorry m8 forgot to reply
there is some time bullet connectors on the wiring harness for the hu.
plug the red to the yellow and vice versa and that should sort it
i got these dials off mike172sport so i could practice on first(and for the white needles)
there are 10 SMT leds (http://www.rapidelectronics.co.uk/rkmain.asp?PAGEID=80010&CTL_CAT_CODE=30316&STK_PROD_CODE=M29417&XPAGENO=2like these)
ive ringed the ones that need to be changed...
firstly id like to thank Mike172Sport:D
anyone who wants to change the colour of them needs to be good with a soldering iron.
it looks like that the dials and needles will have to be the same colour:(.
for a start you need a T10 torx bit to remove the screws that hold it together as...
nah its quite easy to do but the problem is that you will find that the door cards will rattle after you have taken them off.:(
id recommend getting some dynamat extreme ans a decent roller and it shouldnt take that long.
im guessing its the new plate cos they never used to stare

i got my new plate fitted yesterday and now every one seems to stare at my car now. a couple of people have stoped on the side of the road to have a look.
i was just wondering does anyone else get this???
the exsisting speakers are run in parallel. they just use a bi-polar cap at the tweeter to stop all the bass.
you could cut the exsisting wire at the tweeter and then you might be able to put the X-over in the dash
yeah if they are made of carbon then they are the brushes.
i would change them if the are different lengths. the springs holding them on the rotor dont hold them in place when they start to wear
yeah its the input rather than an output. as i said its linked to the dash light some how but...
the small wire is used to create the magnetic field inside the alt. this would mean if the batt was low the field wouldnt be as strong so not producing much current.
this is linked to the light on the dash but cant remember how:(
did the brushed look alright? (no chuncks missing or look...
