Well, I still stand by that for an every day road car Quaife is better IMO. I have driven a 211bhp Glanza turbo with a plate diff and it was noisy at low speed and there was constant tugging of the wheel when ever it went over a rough road or camber or hit a bump in the road. Yes you could...
If you don't mind the banging and/or chirping that a plate diff makes at low speed and though maintenance interval is 5/6 years ie. not maintenance fee. then go for the gripper diff. K-Tec racing do quaife atb diff :

I considered it but for...
For a road car and occasional track I'd say quaife is a better choice and they're maintenance free. The Megane uses a quaife type LSD and seems to work very well.
Plate diffs are too harsh for road use, can make a racket in low speed turns and need regular maintenance when compared to something like a torque sensing quaife diff.
If you have 182FF then you have "xenon" HID dipped headlights and H1 halogen main beam. Don't confuse xenon HID with xenon halogen bulbs. Cups use H7 halogen bulbs that can contain xenon gas in the bulb for their dipped beams.
I can't claim credit for that picture. Mine doesn't look that good either. The image is from this site, which incidently has a lot of info on the Trophy

I hope you got back to Arnold Clarke dealership and told them you sought a 2nd opinion and that either their technicians are incompetent or that they're trying to rip you off or both and that because of this, recommending all on a Renault owners club to steer clear of their dealership.
Do a search, there are journalists in numerous publications that are in agreement :butt:
Well you've answered your own question!!! The Trophy is a *R O A D* car not a RACE car!!!
If presented with a cost free choice of either a set of coilovers or a set of Trophy dampers, I would say that the majority would take the Trophy dampers over a set of coilovers!!
At the end of the day its each to their own. Those who have the Trophy love them, those who don't b**ch about them.
The remote reservoirs allow for thicker and stronger strut for enhanced camber compliance as well as thermal stability. Are they gimicks? Autocar doesn't think so:
"......the Clio Trophy is a car with so much damping sophistication that it achieves the impossible. It rolls less than the Cup...
I'm all for a stealth mobile but that is badly done!! Keep the exhaust as it is and get yourself a MKII 172 rear bumper. That should finish it off nicely.
I would argue that coilovers would make the ride harsh and only suitable for track or smooth roads only. Simply throwing on a set of coilovers does not automatically give you superior ride and handling.
Thats because you're not a chassis engineer who has the backing of an R&D team financed by...
The xenons on the Clio are IMO overrated. They look good from the outside, but from behind the wheel, they're not that great. They light up the road well enough to the sides but up a head, there is a sharp cutoff in the light beam limiting the range. I tried increasing the range on my 172 by...
The standard exhaust is about 23kg. The Scorpion RS192 is 16.5kg. I have this exhaust and fitted it myself and is quality system. Heres more info on the system.

My post was meant as tongue in cheek. Had a MKII172 in 2001 when I joined and with a few other cars in between. Haven't been on this forum much until I bought a Trophy last year. I don't know who is the longest standing member here but I'm not a founding member, there were plenty of members...
With these CAF, especially the pic by Inferno, surely these will collect crud, grit, leaves, water/rain, insects or a small bird etc and therefore clog up the filters very quickly. A lot of these after market cloth and foam filters do not filter as effectively as standard paper/fibre filters...
So if its a genuine 200bhp @ wheels, that would make about 235bhp at the fly wheel....I don't think so!!!!
The top line is torque, the bottom line is power.
Looks bad, glad you're OK. Not wanting to point fingers, I guess since the other driver hit the rear drivers side on a round about, you pulled out on the other driver?
