Best heavy duty battery for Clio?

Just thrape the hell out of your system Get some tones on, and measure votage across amplifiers power side. WHEN ENGINE IS ON! I it drops to about 12volts you should look at uprating things. If it doesnt go below 13 its fine. Simple! Mine never drops below 12.5 volts and i run a jbl 1201.1...

Best heavy duty battery for Clio?

Off 800wrms you shouldnt need too much of an upgrade. Yeh do TB3 and get an optima yellow top. You find these at halfrods though! and they do a size which will fit underbonnet! No need for an uprased alt, at all with that current draw!

Is it illegal to load passengers in through the boot? LOL

Just completly sod off the passangers seat. I hate having folks in the front if there's room in the back. Only person allowed in the front of mine is the misses cus she just sits there and doesnt speak when i'm driving. She gets the same returned when she's driving!

If you really want to do it. Get it professionally done... If you're asking for help on here i don't think it should be on you consider to do yourself list. Will need a new fibreglassed centre console and something has to go to fit it in there..... Along with is there sufficient length cables...

    Request for steeleis pics!

How much that cost to get done though? Then new rubber needed! Can't fit into the cliosport.net stereotype i'm afraid. Make everything look like a 172/182, then turini's. Just can't be done 'fraid! Sweet so with the subs, batts and dropped by 60mm fronts and 40mm backs. Should be sweet!

    ICE problem, (suspected alternator)

Power output into 2 ohm is 1114 watt rms. The units are not designed for loads under 2 ohm. So you are drawing extensive power. Say it's 85% efficient, which is optimistic for this amp. 1310 w rms is being drawn. Which at a best case scenario is 91amps (14.4volts) but at worst case (12v)...

    ICE problem, (suspected alternator)

Into what load. If it was 1 ohm then sorry mate you ragged that A6, massive voltage drop, without uprated alt to batt cabling. It's less that 8guage... across 4' which essentially powers the device during engine on operation!
  15. agithegreat

    ICE problem, (suspected alternator)

I hope you have uprated engine wiring to run this amp. (alt to batt mainly) Also i believe a bad earth could be to blame. Too much resistance. thus putting the amp into protect! Check your voltage across the a,plifier terminals. Then get someone to turn it up slowly and watch the volts as it...

    Car insurance, why so expensive????

I was with churchill last year. 17. No previous driving or anything. £1900. Just phone around don't work on the internet. Quotes vary a lot on the phone to the net!

    Head unit

No iso adapter is needed for a mk2!!!! You will need the necessary adapter to use steering wheel controls however. Which i do believe that HU does not support!

    Main Power Feed (fuse)

Regardless of spikes or constant it's still current draw? All i'm saying is that 25mm^2 cable over any length should not be fused greater than 100amp. And that 50mm^2 can be fused at upto 250amp. I see what you're saying about it's only a burst. BUT if you fuse said wire at 200amp (to allow the...

    Main Power Feed (fuse)

Take a little read here... i know its for audio but the principle is exactly the same for current draw! http://www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp
  20. agithegreat

    Main Power Feed (fuse)

Yes! Ideally over 12' you shouldnt run any more than 80 amps off 25mm^2. BUT for a shorter length 9' then it's about 100a. However 50mm^2 you're talking 250a at least over 12'. I draw a nice 180a off 25mm^2 but the cable is only 2' long. And it gets warm. Will soon be upgraded to 50mm^2 though!
  21. agithegreat

    Main Power Feed (fuse)

Starter motor drawing too much current for that length od cable. so you should uprate the cable to 50mm^2 then fuse it at 200A

i need to know how to

Grommet is behind the glove box, whack passanger seat back, lie on back and look up. Easy to find! You wont need an iso adapter to work the HU. But you will need a set of controls for use of steering wheel's controls! Ermm... i think you need the connects 2 one...
