pls, how much slower than the 172 are the next fastest non 172 petrol Clios? I was behind one yesterday (normal looking one, nice blue 3dr Mk2) that was totally hoofing along. It wasnt hard to keep up, but i was well impressed by its pace. Are the 1.6s (or a 1.8?) quite fast then? g

in the (almost) two years that I owned it, Ive never floored my car. I did today, in 2nd, and about 3/4 of the way down, the throttle had a sticky point. troops, whats the heater like in your 172? At below 0, mine doesnt seem that warm at all. In fact, on journey last night (about 20mins, then 20mins back home, it felt chilly inside. Im not expecting to be able to roast an ox, but it felt uncomfortably nippy inside at max temp and high fan speed...

i was just wondering if im alone in thinking that the 172s engine is an unsung hero? Its powerful, very flexible, not peaky to the detrament of low down pick-up, is smooth from base to peak, shows no nasty temperament, is strong and durable (more so than the rest of the Clio), is excellent on...

OK, so in the Clio brochure, it says the Clio comes with R.A.I.D which automatically locks the doors at 6mph. Is this under or over 6mph? Isnt it better if the doors lock at under 6mph? I know carjackers move fast, but I cant see one legging it alongside you at 40mph for long. Anyone know? g

I do. Now that mine has it, I think it overlays a nice fizz to the deep note you get from the exhaust, especially when the revs drop. How does it sound from the outside? g
