Anyone know if there is anyone about doing Radio Keys for RS Clio's for a decent price/free? I don't fancy the shock of having to ask Renault how much they want.
Are Polyurethane steering wheels really that bad? I would love a nice suede or leather wheel as much as the next guy, but for the wheels I'm looking at Polyurethane is coming out at almost half as much as a leather or suede alternative. It would only be for track use and a bit of road driving...
Are these rear pads ok for a Phase2 172?
http://www.kamracing.co.uk/renault/renault-clio-mk2/brakes/brake-pads/renault-clio-2-0-16v-rs-oem-rear-brake-pads-brembo.html
I'm assuming that its just a mistake on the website that means the Phase2 isn't listed? As far as I know it doesn't have unique...
As title really. I don't have the tools, space, time or patience to remove the bumper, but I need to either replace or remove my headlight washers before my next MOT. Ideally I want to blank them.
Is it possible to get any meaningful cooling to the front brakes from the fog light surrounds using pipe work without having to remove the carbon canister and the acoustic valve?
I've found that during full bore up shifts, or if I hit the limiter, theres a rather loud clunk coming from the engine area. More of a bang actually. It doesn't do it all the time, just when at high revs with a dodgy shift or hitting the limiter so with a lof of energy coming though the engine...
On track yesterday and I found I still have a lot more understeer than I was hoping.
So far on my 172 I have fitted a Whiteline ARB, Sportlines, Cup front shocks, camber bolts and trackday tyres (Federal RSRs). The alignment is setup standard but with -1.5 camber on the front.
So what other...
So, has anyone so far put an RS Clio though an MOT since Jan 1st with any of the following:
Headlight washers on HID cars not working
Headlight washers on HID cars removed completely
Steering wheel replaced with an after market one with no airbag
Airbag light on
Fixed back bucket seats
Fixed to...
Can anyone recommend a set of decent locking wheel nuts that don't cost the earth, but also don't have a stupid fiddly flimsy locking nut that breaks easily?
Cheers
What size are the centre caps in the OZ F1's, and can they be replaced with other OZ ones? I have had a look online and there are a few different sizes and types of OZ centre cap around.
So, whats a decent after market wheel?
I want a flat one as I think dished would be to close. I like suede more than leather, but the fact they go shiny might annoy me? Whats a good size (also, how big is the standard wheel, 380mm?)?
Cheers
I've changed my front shocks to Cup ones, and fitted Sportlines and camber bolts, and since doing so I have noticed my steering feeling 'stiffer'. Its also not so keen to self centre while driving either. If I turn it full lock left then it reaches a point when it seems to loose all desire to...
What do people go with for aftermarket steering wheels? Dished or flat? I am tall so have the seat all the way back to fit my legs under so my arms are fully straight to reach the top of the wheel. A dish would reduce this, but I am also rather large, so don't want the wheel to be to close...
How important are they? There was no way I was going to get the ones off my old shocks, they had rusted themselves completely on. The screw had no shape left with the exposed bottom thread a lump of solid rust. So I have just cable tied it loosely in place on my new shocks for the time being...
I've just noticed a knocking coming from my steering when stationary. If I 'wiggle' the wheel left and right a little bit I can hear something deep in the bowels of the engine going knock knock knock. As if there is a bit of play in the steering or suspension or something? I fitted my Sportlines...
Is it a specialised task, or should anyone with a decent alignment rig know how to do it?
Basically, if I fit my camber bolts myself and take it round the corner to Formula 1 Autocentres who have a laser alignment rig, will they know what they are doing in setting up camber?
Or am I better off...
Does anyone have pics of carbon bits (diamonds, splitter, washer blanks, mirrors, etc) on an Iceberg Clio? I'm tempted to do a few bits, but Iceberg is an odd colour, and adding any highlights brings out the blue in the paint and can look really odd.
Apparently, spending all my bonus on car bits doesnt meet aproval from the missus. Something about me needing spending money for a holiday, lol.
So, my plans to buy a bunch of kit for my car have to be scaled back. Im currently running standard suspension and 15" wheels with PE2s. I was...
When buying OEM Renault front shocks, do you get the rubber base for the spring, and the bolt, metal disk and rubber top bit that holds the spring on at the top? Basically, if I buy new front shocks and Sportlines, can I build the new shocks up before hand and then just swap them over with the...
Whats the cheapest way to get some decent lowering and stiffening on a stock 172?
Since fitting 15s and doing a couple of track days, it desperately needs lowering, and I would like a stiffer set-up. My initial though is just some Eibach Sportlines, but what about cheap coilovers? I'm not...
What would be the cheapest way to get a couple of buckets into my 172 that would lower the seating position as much as possible, but also accommodate a 6'4" 'large' guy :)
I'm in no hurry to put a cage an harnesses in, so any sort of halfway house half bucket type things would be good to
What do you do?
I sold my 5 172 wheels and got a set of 4 F1's. But that means I am now down a spare. I can take a can of tyre weld, but I know from experience that if I muller a tyre that cant be fixed with it, and I don't have a spare when I should have, the AA/RAC will only tow me up to 10...
