ABS wire supporting arms on front shocks

Car  Ph2 Clio 172
How important are they? There was no way I was going to get the ones off my old shocks, they had rusted themselves completely on. The screw had no shape left with the exposed bottom thread a lump of solid rust. So I have just cable tied it loosely in place on my new shocks for the time being.

Should I be seeking out some new brackets?

I've cable tied it tight enough that the rubber bit on it can't get through, so it won't move up and down, but it does have room to move. Should I pull them tight?

The brackets are cheap enough from Renault, i ended up buying new M6 threaded dome headed bolts to go with them from a nut/bolt fastener company for about 10p each

Grind the head off the screw thats chewed up and reuse the bracket, if youve no grinder use a file
