Rear seats plus the spare adds upto about 40kgs, nothing more, changing seats can save another say 15-20kgs max.... nowhere near 80kgs though.....

... just to add to what Jay has said, the 2 18mm nuts and bolts you remove to take the strut out of the hub assembly are splined, so youll have to undo each of the nuts a bit (Without trying to rotate the bolt) and then tap the bolts out a bit......its a bit fiddly but they come out, just need...

Yes itll more than likely pop on a mk1 valver, you can induce it on overrun by just givin it the tiniest of taps on the throttle... it probably will pop/bang on hard and fast driving gear changes too.
