following MarkM but having had quotes between £3-400 i decided to have a go myself, the install is not yet finished and may not be pleasing to the eye to some. i have posted to try & show it is not difficult for those who would like to do it. it may seem extreme for some but rather a battery...
if you want real gains from a very well made exhaust go for the BTB or wait for AWT, these are top end of the scale, at the bottom with no gains & lesser quality blueflame for price. any ss exhaust place should be able to give you the 'sound' you are looking for. Prospeed & H&S have good service...
it depends on what collection of tuning parts you opt for (also what your car is putting out as standard), a basic tb package is 4k taking you to roughly 210bhp/170lbft. or a mix of; inlet matching (£180), 182 manifold (£250), cams (£6-800), headwork (£600 & up pending on severity), full exhaust...
215 does fit, its the widest you can go on 16x7 but unecessary. 205 or 195 is down to costs & personal preference, both are ok. if you opt for 215 check your offset as if your car is lowered you may get rubbing.
^he can do it in 3hrs, but on average prob about 5, so labour from a garage circa £200, plus extras for link pipe work etc, & maybe a remap. beats spending it on some gay pc polisher/splitter/spoiler etc. there are no cheap easyfix mods for the rs.
for the mk1 id stick with 15x7 (cheapest too), as for lightweight...team dynamics prorace 1 or 1.2's, oz superleggeras, kei also do a couple of multispoke designs, if your a fan of chunky spokes try rota slipstream.
stick with 16's, run with a 37/38 offset for the best results (standard 172 mk2 et48.5) i take it is a mk2? you can run 205/45/16. (the ride wil be firmer if you went for a 205/40/16 for example.) if you want suspension that you dont want to fiddle with try H&R, otherwise it depends on your...
the painful bit is your looking at between 1-2k for this conversion (unless you can do it yourself), the lower cost uses the stock ecu, nearer 2k uses omex or similar.
i have the spec 2 also (previously a539), done one trackday with them, dry grip is excellent, i find them plenty capable in the wet (£75 each 205/45/16). unfortunately not tried the michelins.
i would leave the trophy suspension well alone. my £ would go on a BTB exhaust from shed motorsport, a good start as the trophy shouldnt be too molested imo. if you must get a filter just go with a panel, others are overpriced & a waste of £.
cost wise theres not much diffference between it & the jenvey kit, what thoughts on the motor huger kit? france main renault tuner? seems all kits can be adapted for the spec of the customer, huger retains the aircon & has no cutting of panels, are its gains as good as jenvey? the fourth pic on...
lol @ cliolad, mine is loud due to the bore size & decat but its for a reason, it compliments the work i have had done & the work im going to have done. if i was an attention seeker i wouldnt have bought a clio.
defo a leak, had mine done yesterday, turned out to be one of the seals on the pump, first prob ive had in 4 years. could be a split pipe, if its the pump itself its £25 ish
