thanks folks, was heading down the hill toward the roundabout (pub on left). the area has no mobile phone reception, i had to keep turning it off then stand on a pub table, turn it back on to get some, it was raining too! the landlines where out in the area due to an electrical storm, total...
til friday night mine was running 196bhp/181lbft (172 mk2) with billet cams, headwork, inlets, larger injectors, viper, 2.5" full exhaust & smt6. no tuning option is cheap with the rs.
^hopefully(mods) i have it right, but il find out monday. the car was originally bought on money from another accident payout (not car related), 'so i could win some lose some'
..no 4 pot kit for me Matt! i have pics of the seat ibiza, il post them if i can work out how to blot out his number plate (pc illiterate). all depends on monday as to wether il be on the hunt for another car, mk1 rs/172 cup or something totally different. love the handling of the rs & i know...
ta folks, was going down the hill, happened bout 30yards from the roundabout. can only see it being written off at the mo tbh, would only want it back for the mods (headwork, kw's, cams etc) as even if it was repaired handling issues would be on my mind. whiplash...my lower back took a right...
for a split second i saw him coming in the rearview, but im not superman. insurers will let me know late monday whats happening with it, up on the ramps at the first garage i couldnt see any structural damage but that doesnt count for much with insurers.
another one bites the dust i guess, was going to brands hatch but now its off, rear ended on the a417 opposite the 'air balloon' pub, they reckon they have 2 accidents a week there, further up the hill a couple of hours later while i waited for recovery a tvr driver was thrown into the road. i...
his battery is already in the boot, its not as tricky as some might think. probably done as much as you can if you use your car day to day, eg family. if you do a lot of trackdays/sprints then strip it but otherwise whats the point. windscreen as said is a small option? & wheels. mines a full...
link pipe needs to be made, then you will need a 182 cat, which will have to be cut down (reweld the flange) so you can swap it for the link pipe come mot time. or go for a sports cat as the 'link'. ive got this to do next, pain in the a*se.
^they do! last time i had a pm, he was running 205bhp, & claimed a 0-60 of 5.5 on one of his sprint days. any thoughts on DTA management with the Motor Huger? <short trumpet length & a 'dodgy' manifold?
ya, for whatever the reason its not for everybody, but if you are going to spend 4k on a tb 'kit' a test drive is advisable, also feedback (hopefully honest) from other tb owners is very helpful. average 0-60 seemed to be 5.5 secs (ish), im guessing excellent response in any gear. Roamers...
looking at the cars that have been done with the Jenvey, seems you get a 40bhp/30lbft (ish!!) gain (eg Roamers standard 172..212/170). only question is can you live with it, some havnt been able to, maybe get a testdrive in a tb rs first Mark ;)
..also interested Rich Cup, thought you had just had the conversion also? its not cheap to do anything with the rs but once you have reached a certain point tuning wise, spent a lot of money, & in some cases your still not where you wanted to be with it, whats next? buy a dc5?..that doesnt add...
the work done to the car probably contributes to the way it sounds also? doesnt sound that loud, i like it. mine sets off car alarms a lot of the time.
if somebody doesnt have an ik it looks ok. the itg silicone bends look too short, where sells an alluminium bend? either way it looks like you would have to get the tube made up, correct length/angle, not sure if it looks like 90 degree in that pic. less bends or not so acute angles are better...
standard ecu can be used, but depending on how far you are going to tune your rs (eg tb's), an omex or similar is needed. i have these with an smt6, torque is currently at 181lbft (@4.5k revs). i think they are catcams of Bens own design? as for the workings of them, il leave that to somebody...
fair enough if you want to keep your fogs, many have to compromise, all im saying is for best results use the foglight area as the caf will have minimal bending & a direct opening. we cant all take out the headlight like a cup racer eh.
