like you say one persons loud is anothers unbearably loud. everybody who gets in mine comments on the volume, had some minor work done on my washer pump today & the garage said it was loud, but i like the noise on full chat but i guess i would tire of it on everyday use (commuting), when i get a...
if you are having other 'engine' work done then 2.25" bore is the minimum imo (also keeps the noise level lower), on recommendation i opted for the 2.5" on the second system (the first being 2" & very restrictive) & the difference was very noticable, to give you an idea on how loud the 2.5"...
the decat will compliment the other work the most, it will also be the noisiest option, just a case of swapping it mot time or finding a friendly garage. charlie made the decat easy to change on my 172.
had the same dilema myself a while ago, it seems as Mark says whatever works for you, bit of trial & error. i ran mine at 34 all round & i drove it like i stole it after my session with the instructor, no problems. next one il try some different pressures.
tb money, trouble is you get halfway through whatever tuning route you have decided to take & find you need/want this & that, all extras but by then its too late, the cost is adding up you may as well keep going, its usually done in in stages when youve got 1 or 2k. there are other ways to get...
Gweebs, what i am asking is this & il try to make it simple. the kit contains: ss hoses, brembo discs, pads, wilwood calipers & mounting brackets. if you already have hoses, discs & pads is the cost reduced? (as i would be buying stuff i already have..whats the point in that) ta Fred ;-)
shouldnt be to hard, any news on the pads? also as i said is it as a 'whole kit' eg if you already have brembo discs & ss hoses (pads if they fit) basically if its pos you just want the calipers & brackets? or should i step away from the crack pipe as they say lol
standard bore is 50mm ish, so ideally you should have 57mm (2 1/4")minimum, ideal is 63mm(2.5") to 75mm(3") ish but at the larger bore its very loud, if they have gone smaller than the oe size that is why it feels slower as it is being 'choked', trouble is if you didnt specify what size bore you...
all the big brake kits for the rs are expensive, shed motorsport also have a kit out soon not many details yet tho, im not justifying the cost but to get somewhere to make up brackets for some random calipers is more than £50 i would think.
unfortunately for me the viper was reputed to be top of the tree when i got it, the maxogen wasnt out then, & its nearly £400 so il be sticking with the viper until the next tuning stage, which hopefully will be soon. if you dont yet have an ik then spend the extra & get the maxogen as its the...
nice to see another 172 kit m8! can you use any pads with these or is it wilwood fit only? & if you have hoses & brembo discs already what does this reduce the cost by? how would you compare the stopping power to say pf pads & standard setup Andy? so many q's as always! ;-)
