Prospeed Question

  2002 Clio 172
Booked my 2002 172 into prospeed for Tuesday to have a cat back system.
When speaking to Charlie the point came up about a decat, he said there were 3 options, decat pipe, sport cat and another (can't remember what it was though).
Just wonderd if others have had a decat from there and what they went for as I'm not sure what to do at the moment.

Next on the list is the modified inlet manifold and a GDI remap is this makes a difference.

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..
the decat will compliment the other work the most, it will also be the noisiest option, just a case of swapping it mot time or finding a friendly garage. charlie made the decat easy to change on my 172.

had 2 systems from prospeed so the second was a fair bit cheaper, but depending on your choice of options a full system will probably cost £4-500.

if you are having other 'engine' work done then 2.25" bore is the minimum imo (also keeps the noise level lower), on recommendation i opted for the 2.5" on the second system (the first being 2" & very restrictive) & the difference was very noticable, to give you an idea on how loud the 2.5" system is it measured 98db at goodwood recently so not for everybody but i dont use my 172 for commuting.

I had a full system with de-cat made today for £380 very happy with the work and how friendly the guys at prospeed are. Charlie modified the cat to make it a simple swap. Car now revs more freely and the sound is just right.
