unless you could source cheap parts yourself engine/box/ecu/bigger turbo/fmic etc and do some if not all the work yourself im guessing a specialist would probably charge 7k ish (parts/labour/mapping) to do a decent VAG 20v conversion for the valver.
shouldnt be a problem if the kit is installed properly, agree with sticking to the 6k kit tho, which is what i have and my night driving is now safer as i can see much better than using the original valver candles.
as for finding alloys to fit the mk2, if you stay with 16's ET37 to 48.5 is acceptable. 37 being ideal as it widens the track improving the handling. however if you have it low on 17's et37 may rub.
surley it depends on what cams as to where the power would be? they should have asked you if you wanted mid or top end etc? if you wanted better torque then headwork is advisable from my own experience, mine ran 181lbft with it.
Re: RR results for 1*2s
thought you would get this done as its the last 'basic' mod for yours? saw yours at GDI at the weekend, looks a touch too low for decent handling.

smt6/viper/headwork/cams/injectors/2.5" decat system: 196bhp/181lbft (172mk2). shes dead & gone now but if it helps for comparrisons..
ya £700ish, like ive said what will you use them for? whats your budget? i paid £500 for my used KW v2's. suspension doesnt need to be ultra low for the best handling on the road, a lot of people having it sitting on the bump stops which is totally usless.
if you are looking at ChrisK Ledas over some H&R its a no brainer, Ledas everytime. but first consider your usage, there are other cheaper alternatives if you dont need all that adjustment, whats the point? as Fubar says many buy them & dont use them. that deal aside, KW v2 for me, had them on...
