its a shame about youtube as the quality is shite, id really like to post a downloadable link, more short vids to come later including my close call. as for cost that day was £159 (i joined the MLR for £30 as i liked the trackday dates & next up is spa in may), it was very well organised, i had...
ya a combo of things, the weather, my driving, & the throttle cable bodge...Flan had 130mph ish on the straight on a previous day at donny, i was only getting 105mph. when you see the vid of the RC developments evo from the day it looks like i was stood still.
i was hoping to do a link for ppl to download but as im pc illiterate im struggling, my pc doesnt like windows movie maker so i used nero & its come out in an mp4 which i cant seem to do anything with so its youtube for now, first cut from the very wet & greasy morning 1 & 1/2 laps ending with...
not sure bout RWS? not had time to try to edit the video yet, hopefully have time this week. had a quick look earlier, i think due to the cable bodge i was only pulling bout 105mph down the straight, gutted.
you could spend a fortune trying to get the wow factor, either by throwing £ at your engine, or keeping up with the jones' by buying an R26. how deep are your pockets? TB's or wait for the SC kit?
a few pics from Donny at the MLR/SIDC/GTROC club day, not great tho! track was wet to start with, weather stayed dry til about 11am then showers all day, track was very greasy. while i was waiting to be towed (throttle cable snapped on 2nd lap aproaching the bend at the pits) i saw several...
going with the rectangle also, looking forward to seeing this up & running at the rr day m8. got a similar prob, need to cut out my numberplate area, il agree its a real headache Mike.
had both, spec 2's (205/45/16) excellent in the dry (very good grip on track in the dry, good feedback), okay in the wet. GSD3 (195/50/15) squirm a bit more, good in the dry although not as grippy as the spec 2's, good in the wet. (trying on track next week). both good tyres.
its a 100 cell Mark, and ya wrong side of £400, he also fixed my turbo pipe in the engine as it was coming apart when you give it full beans. im still guessing on the engine in the polo, Charlie didnt know either.
yes m8, not enough room, i might have got only 2" by going over which is no good, Charlie has 'squashed' the 3" at that point to get it as high as pos.
went for a sports cat this time as im getting lazy, 3" pipework, i dont think its 98db but Charlie has sorted me a bung for trackdays just in case, its got a nice turbo burble to it now, solid as a rock as the old one started to fall off on the way down there.
few pics from yesterday at Prospeed as i needed a new zorst (pics of old & new), the prospeed motors, a polo (anybody recognize the engine?), & a cup..
the handling is the best mod you can do, try some eibachs for starters as they are fairly cheap.
decat will give the best results, at mot time you will just have to swap it back. sports cat is for the lazy arse who wants piece of mind (me!). as for exhausts there arnt many that have been...
as said, coliovers or eibach sportlines (depends on usage) before the engine. wouldnt bother with the exhaust till the original falls off, then a BTB & sports cat. inlets & remap a good start tho as you already have a viper.
