    Yep same here, my dealer says Reanult know of this problem and recomend putting some rubber disks on the top of the suspension mounts? Mine still bangs though, so back its going!

    Ill let ya know what I think, sure there will be no perfomance gain, but the quality should be top class and save on replacement Renault items. It should out perform a older standard filter, there supposed to have a very good flow pattern even when loaded with dirt? Ill let ya all know.

    no prob Reth its WB351 £43.48 including VAT & Delivery The 57i will sound good, but dent ya performance, loads of hot air now being sucked in! I would of thought the only way to increase air flow was to make the filter medium less restrictive, hence less filtration?

    well, its a valid question I think, say I dont want a cup or second hand CTR There must be something a bit different, as for £13,000 I cant see myself getting a car for more for a while yet. Must be something a bit different? £13,000 will get a fair bit second hand!

    I was chatting to me mate the other day, and he asked me a good question What ya going to replace ya 172 with? Its got to be cheap (£13,000 tops mines an import) fast, fun, ok on fuel, not to bad to insure? So what will match the 172? not much I can think of?

    Fair point RobFenn, it does suit people to have a gradual upgrade. and prob cheaper, not sure though? I fully support anyone who wants to make there motor a little different, make it sound nice etc everyone whos slightly enthusiastic about cars will go in this direction.

    lol yeah get ya point, they say the same about the Jag XJR, compaired to something like the new Golf R32 engine note, supercharges dont stand a chance. Well each to there own i guess, now if its engine noise it HAS to be a V8:D

    :confused: You hate superchargers? I know an NA engine will allways be more responsive, but they can do wonders for torque and power. Yeah the 1.6 engine in the Mini seems to be quite ordanary, most of the car mags dont rate the engine.

    Yeah I can relate to that :cool: it does look GOOOD I liked the carbon bonnet scoop they do for the Caterham 7, that would look good. Have you seen the cup race cars? dont they have an intake where one of the headlights would be?

    Sounds like it needs a fair bit of development work. 5bhp would be a good gain from an air intake mod, but lots of people have said the ram air effect will only really start to work around 200+mph:confused: Still it will be interesting to see what Reault come up with...............if ever!

    Hang on, 25 bhp out of a 1.2.............thats not going to get you going much quicker anyway! De-cat etc etc nice sounds and a bit more go. But only a bit, just save ya money and get something quicker. My 172 now seems like it could do with more power, belive me the amount of money you will...
