Thing is, I wasn't out to buy one of these.
It came into work and was mint.
Not overly worried about leather, too hot in summer, too cold when you first get in it in the winter.
The noise on this thing is stunning, will be a shame to see it go.
If an Electric Orange ST had come in this condition I would have had it still but can't choose what people part exchange.
Sea Grey looks great when clean.
Exige next I think.
Thought I'd share some photos (only iPhone 5 though) of my Focus ST.
Came in part exchange at work and had to have it.
The chap who part exchanged it in was polishing the inside even though he was picking up his new Focus ST!
So I knew he'd looked after it. FSH, paint immaculate, gearbox...
Had a few 182's and a couple of 200's and the 182 is better on fuel by 4mpg for me.
The 182's 'feel' quicker to drive than the 197/200's but in reality they are not.
You do have to wind them up to get any power and that's why the mpg aren't the best.
I'll be moving the Focus ST on soon I...
Welcome to the forum James.
If you get no luck with your fault here then put it in the faults part of the forum, you'll get more views and a quicker answer.
Good luck
You are right-the 1*2's are absolutely brilliant fun and for the money the performance is brilliant.
I'd imagine you'd find an early 05,55 ST in your budget but you may not need anything as big as that so the cooper S would probably fit.
I think the standard 'S' are slower than the 172's...
Ive had 2 Trophy's and are great cars but seen as you've had your 172 for 4 1/2 years you will find it too similar I reckon.
I've just changed my Trophy for a Focus ST and the boost and noise is something else.
Good luck with your search.
Knowing what garages are like they won't take £500 off if it hasn't been done.
They will probably say they will do the cambelt themselves but it needs to be done by specialists like one of the traders on here.
Otherwise it is just usual things like tyres, brakes, service history, knocking on...
Hi Emma,
Seems an ok price.
Do they have a receipt for the belts being done.
If not then they will need doing at £500.
You'll always pay abit more from a garage.
I reckon private sale for a Titanium would be nearer £2500.
Good luck with it.
I might be wrong but I think you get xenons, climate control, auto lights and wipers, cup pack with red brembos, recaros and they did liquid yellow paint work as well as the other colours.
Limited edition too so should hold it's value better but you pay more to start with.
Hi Ryster,
£10,000 should get you a 200 I would have thought and are a great car (I've had 2).
You do need to rev the nuts off them to get the best out of them though so different drive to your modded ST.
Because of this the mpg will be anywhere between low 20's and low 30's depending...
I need to see one in the flesh before I make judgement.
Unless they do a £1000 down, £200 a month on new ones then I think I'd wait a couple of years and pick one up for £10,000 with recaros (if it becomes an option!)
