FAO Andy,
Would i see any gains in the SMT6 over my current Hillpower Stage 1 ECU? If so what sort of performance gains would i be looking at?
Many thanks
James.
costs around £30 - £35 to fill my tank, that will last me (if im lucky) 350miles before i need filling up again. Before i had my 2.0ltr fitted i used to see an easy 400 with my 1.8 lump.
Still the convertion is worth every penny, before fuel wise & convertion costs
P.S - thats with a stage...
risking it abit with that fcuked gearbox aint ya? Have you tried switching over the ECU for a std one? theres not alot else you can replace, engine managment system has to be the issue surely?
im told lightening the fly isnt a good thing if your lacking in torque - drilling / balancing the fly may help your engine rev quicker, but in turn looses torque
Yeah your right mines black m8, wasnt me in the red valver.
the day i saw the nsx was around 1st of April, day before i left for liverpool for the weekend. looked sweet m8, whos is it?
not to much of an issue to fit - pref you need 2 people on the job. I bleed my whole system when i replaced mine with goodridge hoses - performance increase is minimal, but worth it.
Rob is the NSX pic taken from round near where we work? I saw an NSX driving past the BP garage near maidstone the other day. Not the sort of car you see every day. It must be the same one?
Ive heard nothing but good things about H&G - tho the same could also be said for FK aswell, alittle cheaper aswell im told. Have you thought about maybe going down that road? Ill be investing in some FKs next month after pay day.
Jay - recently had an ITG filter, decat, stg 1 hp ECU added + Magnex zorst... as i said just mild stuff really. I used to think like you AJR until i got a fairly quick car.
The real sleepers of the forum are the likes of Nick Read 260bhp + BBPT turbo valver. Tho visually they dont look...
How do you mean on a standard chassis? i have a completely standard looking 16v with a nice 2.0ltr with some *mild* mods attached. Seems to surprise a few people now and then ;) sleepers are the way forward, not into show and no go.
Theres a RR day already arranged m8, get your name down in the meet section. Tho id also like to know where this place is too - i live near to lakeside wouldnt mind checking it out some time.
Dont miss the witham RR day tho fella, should be a good day out providing my cambelt doesnt snap on...
U33db - looking forward to the full report once the convertion has been completed, can i ask what sort of cost has been involved getting it up to this stage?
LOL - quality, never tried that, not sure id wunna try either after hearing that! How much does it imporve 1/4 times? I hear weight has a secret for 1/4ing to help improve times - is this it?
well put it this way - to replace the rear quarter strip on my valver they wanted £27 quid. Thats not including clips @ 50p each + VAT. X 4
This may give you an idea on what yours is going to cost. Its a rip off, and its not as if its a stable design either!
Sorry to hear that fella! :(
A friend of mine had his 205 GTI broken into while in bluewater carpark once - they didnt manage to nick anything but managed to f**k all his locks up!! costing £££ to put right. When he investigated the issue further with security they told him that the car parks...
be careful fella - dont be tempted to drive it in its current state - last thing you want is your transmission locking up on a motorway or something to that effect.
It maybe the way your going into the corners - i always find slowing down before the corner in advanced then flooring it round gives you best results - otherwise youll be braking into the corner becuase of the speed your carrying causing the car to slide forward. This maybe why your having...
If your loosing the back then youve got major issues. A french FWD hatch should never oversteer unless the driver is complete tw*t and doesnt know how to drive.
You should gess mass understeer before loosing the back end, or......... you are lifting of the gas round corners (not a good idea...
LOL - all depends on the condition of your 16v! Personally my 16v could really do with having its suspension changed all over. Its still running on its standard setup with 80k on the clock! Even with the standard setup and its hard life (since i took ownership of it :devilish:) it still corners...
