My Mk1 172 is on 74k now. No engine problems at all, goes like a rocket :)

On mine the clip in the 3rd picture down has a metal bar running through it which holds it in place. Hard to explain.

I had the same problem with Direct Line when I was insured with them. Changed to Adrian Flux as a result and they were miles cheaper anyway!

Yep they are 195/50 R15 and the speed rating is 82V I think :)

I bought mine from that ebay link, was like 50p more than from Renault :) but saved me a trip into town to collect it.

Nice car! I would go for it and get the bumpstrips, door handles and boot lock colour coded :) also the fog surrounds if you like. Here is a picture of my fogs colour coded to give you and idea:

Check the mount that is under the battery :) mine was loose and was causing some knocking and poor gear changes.

Silvervisions front and back, some new plain number plates and an alloy tax disc holder. Nice interior mats and alloy pedals. That would be about it.

Got an rstuning remap on mine + some other mods. Pulls much better through the rev range, well worth doing.

I would try having the mirrors and door handles colour coded and do the strips gloss black? :)

Looks incredible. Having been in an Audi A5 with 500Nm of torque, the R8 must be pretty crazy.
