I have sportlines with new shocks and top-mounts. Very pleased with the setup, handles great and similar ride to standard.

If I remember correctly..... Take off the plastic liner from the inside of the boot (1 torz screw on the right and then just pull it off), then you will be able to see the back of the surround. I think its held on with 2 bolts or maybe just a couple of clips. Hope this helps :)

On mine there is a relay or something attached to it. Think this was changed in the later models hence why there is nothing there :)

On my Mk1 172 there are 4 bolts on top where the boot closes. 2 bolts on each arch liner and then there is also a bolt either side just behind the top of the bumper where it meets the rear quarter panel.

Ive just changed my gearbox oil to Royal Purple, tis excellent stuff gear change is so much smoother :)

I remember Stoddie had one on his, looked very nice! Required a bit of modification to fit I think.

Yes they will fit, got some phase 2 ones on mine and they are the same.

There is a mount on the bottom right of the battery. In between the battery and the fuse box cover. Just 1 bolt holds it on I think. Undo that once you have disconnected the positive and negative connectors on the top and it should come out :)

Hmmm couple of services including a cambelt change, plus a brakes package. This was around 18months ago so things have no doubt improved since then.

The car in my avatar is a photoshop I did about 5 years ago and has nothing to do with what car I drive if you must know. I do appreciate peoples opinions, hence why I dont come out with comments like "it looks w**k!".

Why will it look awful? Should look much nicer than black plastic ones.

You can use cable ties to hold it together. Just drill a hole through the plastic near where the clips go. They hold it on much better :)

Dont know much about the DM's, but I have the S3's in surround and they are awesome.

Easy fix :) you just need to loosen the torx screws in the middle below the grille and the bolt just behind the arch liner, then refit it so its straight and a bit higher.

Apart from being really high thats very nice! Good choice of mods :)

Looks like a 1.2, would rather have a liquid yellow R27. Would never have either over my Mk1 172 though.

I have new shocks all round and eibach sportlines, works great for me!

On my Mk1 172 it is located just behind the passenger side foglight. You have to remove the arch liner to get at it. Hope this helps.

Sure do, if driven hard and you keep they revs up its great fun.

My dad has a 190/t-sport :) in a straight line mine was slightly quicker (that was before inlet manifold and remap). However they are very very good on the corners, so much grip. Build quality is excellent though and lovely interior. Dont like the whole all or nothing power though, below 6k revs...
