There is a setting below 16C called MINI, which just keeps it blowing ice cold air out, rather than reaching 16C, but even setting it at 16C in a hot car should give very cold air. Something doesnt sound right - I went out in mine yesterday and had it set on 18C and it was blowing ice cold air...
Its when changing down gear you blip the throttle to match the engine revs in the new gear before releasing the clutch. Its done by braking with the heel of your right foot, left foot on clutch and blipping the throttle with the toe of your right foot
Try an online quote from http://www.directline.comwww.directline.com or http://www.tesco.com/financewww.tesco.com/finance - they give pretty good online quotes and are always 2 of the cheapest for me. Itll give you a final idea of how much youd be looking at. I didnt know insurance companies...
Notice how Shell dont actually claim an octane rating for Optimax on the pumps. I think I remember hearing that it was refined at 98.6 but they dont guarantee it on the pumps like super is listed at 97RON at other stations.
I avoid Optimax if I can help it. Car often feels sluggish on it and...
Red line does not equal limiter. The regular 172 does not get limited at 6750. Just a thought - I know nothing really!
Personally Id have picked a different title if you didnt want flak!
Not only does it have ABS, but it also has ASR (traction control), ESP and EBD if you need them ;).
Imports lose value at a similar rate, but remember you paid less in the first place! They are specced the same (apart from alarm which is a dealer fit thing in the UK) and are impossible to tell...
Either Cup with climate or normal 172. Look here for the arguments for climate control -> http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=2&TopicID=43667&PagePosition=1http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=2&TopicID=43667&PagePosition=1 It really is...
Yep, Id agree with KDF and adtmits. Its well worth the money and £695 is actually pretty cheap for a climate control extra on a car - its usually over £1000.
There is nothing like it on a hot day, and as KDF said, its not just about ice cool air when its hot. It controls the temperature of the...
Got a shocking renewal premium through from Adrian Flux, who obviously thought Id find it funny for them to increase my premium this year to £1000 fully comp. After them pissing me off when I changed to the Clio mid insurance and refusing to match Tesco because they knew Id lose out by...
Do whatever you like, but Ive done what you are planning and my insurance has only just settled down at 23 as a result of sponging off my parents policy for my first couple of years driving. 2 years NCD is usually worth a sight more than £100 in premium reduction. Id check it out a bit more if I...
No you wont....otherwise everyone would do it. You have to be the policyholder to get no claims. The only exception sometimes can be if youve driven on a company car policy - some companies will credit you with no claims in that case. I highly highly doubt youll find anyone who will give you no...
If you have no credit history, you may struggle getting an unsecured loan from a bank for that kind of value (certainly not at a decent APR) - all depends how much you earn and if you really have NO credit history.
The good thing about PCP on a car for example, is that its secured on the car...
60 stone = 381kg
That makes your Cup (that depends on its 89kg weight loss for its performance) weigh about 1400kg!! Id imagine you would have some trouble with performance
The (well my) mk2 172 is about 35/40 out of 1st, 60 in 2nd, late 80s in 3rd and 110 ish in 4th. Didnt think the Cup is much different???
Remember that the ECU is clever and brings the limiter in earlier when cold - and its not just water temperature.....the engine has to be fully warmed up...
tell me about it  - and then try cleaning the buggers in the sunlight which is what I had to do today. The smearing is so noticable - before you even reach for your chamois, its dried with horrible marks. They do look great when they are clean though
Except when it actually feels slower on Optimax than on 97 RON, which is what I get every time I put the wretched stuff in!! But, like everyone says, its a personal thing - Im sure it works for a lot of people, but I steer well clear. BP or Total 97 every time for me :D Shame we arent in France...
Id say red and silver look equally obvious as 172s from a distance, simply because its so apparent that they are totally colour coded, and a non-172 red or silver would have obvious black trim around it (unless it had been colour coded).
The blue is pretty easy to spot, but not as easy as...
I personally feel that the black 172 is the least 172 looking of the lot. When I bought mine, I chose black because I genuinely think its the best looking colour for a car (kind of menacing looking), but I failed to realise that non-172 Clios in black also have black colour coding!! A silver...
I agree entirely. Optimax makes my car feel least responsive and BP super makes it feel best. Ive tried loads of different ones and the only result Im sure of is that as soon as I fill with Optimax it feels worse and as soon as I change it feels better. I wont touch the stuff with a barge pole...
Some people might take offence to that! Smaller engined you mean! :p
In answer.....yes but not only Clios. I find that most of the cars that try to race me are "what most people would perceive to be leagues below the 172 in performance", however to be honest Im not confident of the 172s power...
Stortford, but Im out Stevenage way quite a bit sometimes.
Have you tried a 172? Coming from a turbo, youd need to get used to N/A power. I came from a turbo and its taken some getting used to!
