Just sold mine, 172 July 02 reg 8490 miles sold for £10,000, Autotrader has them from £9500 to £10500, so around that area. Cat 1 alarm had first service no paint scratches or dings.
We need a name and shame section, as I want to name and shame Camden Renault in Northampton as the biggest bunch of tos*ers I have ever dealt with. They took 4 weeks to service a friends 02 clio 1.6 and do some minor warranty work (front washer ball). They never gave them a courtesy car, nor...
Price, toys and size. CTR is a very good looking car and every now and then I feel the CTR urge, but I do not regret buying my 172, I love it and will hate to see it go as I am getting a company car soon.
A friend took her clio to Renault the other day because her side airbag deployed on its own while she was doing 70 on the dual carrageway almosty finishing her. The local Renult dealers are being rather difficult as the ECU has registered a side impact but there is no damage, they quoted £3500...
They were about £100 more expensive for me than my current one, but I have recommended them to friends and one saved £250, their insurance went from about £600 TPFT (diamond) to £350 FC on their 1.2 corsa. They seem to be an excellent company for drivers under 25 of any sex.
Husbands and Bosworth? Yeh I know the corner and it is bad, though that road has several iffy corners, The road was closed about two weeks ago near there as someone had had a crash. I think I will be using the A6 from now on to get to Leicester.
Must admit I am considering a change to a CTR in the future, the more I see them the more I like them and the Clio is a little impractical, it will come down to; can I live without all the toys, for an extra 25bhp? I have not had any problems with my Clio and not needed to visit a dealer other...
Mike - If you read the original post I wasnt racing and was under the speed limit for that road for the entire journey; "excellerated upto 60" NOT above it. He was driving a Punto hardly a high performance car (so as I was the only one with a "high performance car" I suppose I am a low...
I know I cant afford to run a new golf and as you seem like very young kids I assumed you were rich kids, just guessing at the spoilt bit as I am sure your families didnt help you pay for the car.
Renualt make better hot hatches, VW lost the plot, everyone knows this. The R32 is an attempt to put things right and is an excellent car (best ever VW). Williams is the best hot hatch EVER!! No golf of any generation can compare.
172 may be cheaper but is a lot better value for money. Golfs...
Clios are very good handling cars and you would be shocked at what clios can beat your car on the bends (williams, 1.8 16v etc). VR6s are easy meat for a 172 on any road, the R32 is the only good Golf.
Same thing almost happend to me the other day, and I wasnt even racing. If Id been racing then his Punto and the young child next to him and me could have been in an accident. Punto had no regard for me or other drivers he just wanted to get as close to my arse as possible then attempt to...
Both Ben and this Nick have both been punished, Ben has even discovered something new about himself for good or bad.
Defending your property with reasonable force should be everyones right especially as there are so few police officers on the streets (or at least it seems this way).
Now...
Exactly, good point ST HORNE, cameras only catch people after the offense they do not deter a criminal as they often dont see them. A bobby is a deterent to the crime ever taking place.
An area in Northampton is moving police into local houses to combat crime.
I think the law is a little too relaxed in this country, and the guy deserved to be frightened, and also shown the error of his ways. However, I think Ben went a little too far and he even acknowledges this. He lost control and went berserk, something that should not be celebrated. It is this...
If a guy is driving dangerously get out of their way, my little adventure at the weekend could have resulted in the death of a young child (see shocked topic). If the guy wants to risk his and his girlfriends life then that is his look out, but they could have both been on drugs.
On my way back from visiting my girlfriend, I was shocked by a Fiat Punto that wanted to race me. It approached me doing about 80 in a 40 zone on the A5199 between Leicester and Northampton, a nice little twisty country road. I was driving within the speed limits as I was not in the mood for any...
Sorry about your trouble, so many garages are sh1t these days, why dont you name and shame them.
Have you contacted citizens advice to see if they can help?
I would have assumed the original deal if it is on paper amd signed is legaly binding and that the simple NMR check is not thorough...
