TomTom - Speak to Hill Power about cams for your 1.4. I might be getting a complete overhaul on the cylinder head from them soon with new cam, porting etc.
Well, assuming the connector on you head unit is a bullet type, Id crimp both remote wires (the one from the steering adapter and one for the amp) into a single connector and plug that into the wire from your HU.
You can split the remote so that one wire goes to your steering wheel adapter and another goes to your amp. It only carries a very small current so splitting it into two wont affect it.
Ive never tried adjusted a torsion bar myself TBH, but apparently its pretty easy. Theres a guide on how to do it here, http://www.daz-uk.com/cliosport/guides/lowering-torsion-bar/http://www.daz-uk.com/cliosport/guides/lowering-torsion-bar/
p.s. Make sure you declare your mods. If you dont...
If you just buy springs, then you get two springs, the torsion bar is then adjusted so that the back sits lower to match the front. If you get a suspension kit, you get two springs and four shocks. If you do get a full kit, the torsion bar will still need adjusting.
Its worth spending as much as you can afford on suspension tbh. If you can afford the Eibachs, then get them. Otherwise, Spax stuff is a good choice. Id go for a full kit tho, not just springs.
Can someone please tell me what year/model had colour coded side strips? My ph1 has crap black ones and I want to change them for something a bit nicer.
Any help much appreciated
cheers
Rick
Youll be lucky if you can even find anywhere that will insure you on a valver at 17 TBH. Also, dont be tempted to go on your parents insurance to start with. Get some NCB built up and get a decent motor when you can afford one. It sucks, but thats the way it is!
The Ferrari stand had by far the best looking women;). Although I also saw Jakki Degg there and she was damn fine!
The show was alright although there seemed to be an influx of Alloy Wheel stands this year getting in the way. I always like having a nose around the brake, gearbox etc...
Cant think there are many people on here who have had cossies mate! Probably better off trying http://www.rsownersclub.co.uk/www.rsownersclub.co.uk . I think the classic 6x4 oval is the tailpipe of choice.
BTW, your brothers a lucky bugger!
The front arches are a straight swap I think, they can be picked up from Reno pretty cheap. The rear arches will require you to change the whole of the three quarter panel, which is an expensive job. Ive seen a few clios with just the front arches done and they look alright.
PAS was an optional extra. Mine doesnt have it, but the steering at slow speeds was lighter after I put on 15s with 195/45 tyres. Still a bit of an effort in car parks tho.
Well Reno are supposed to be building an affordable sports car in the next few years, although its highly unlikely that it will a) be based on a clio shell, and b) use a v10 engine. It would be too expensive to develop an engine like that for road use when they already have a v6, and a turbod...
So long as youve got the power to back up the looks then I dont see a problem with fitting that kit. As for wheels, if youve got a kit like that then youve got to go for pukka motorsport alloys IMO. Some 18in compomotive MOs would look ace.
Are there no + or - markings on your old speakers or the adapter to say which wire is positive and which is negative? The alternative is just to try the wires either way round and see which sounds best.
I2ich16v - yeah, there are two torx screws holding it in place on the bit thats attached to the car bodywork. I used a pair of pliers and a torx screwdriver bit to get them out. Its a bit tight but you wont be able to get access to them otherwise.
lunner - the cables feed from the car body...
