my scrolling is weird. It scrolls down but not up again. Other than that, chrome seems nice and v.quick.

It could be the piston couldn't it. I'm guessing they're not repairable, just replacable! Is there a way I could check for certain it's the piston? If the top mount was loose, would it creak under braking?

The shims are still on, all clean and smeared with a bit of grease. But I just removed the backing plates that came on the pads themselves. Looked a bit suspect, but I've prob' made things worse. Disc seems fine, pads are new, pedal feels ok too
