I'm running vista, have backed up everything I need and I have my Reinstallation DVD at hand,.. How do I format the computer, and re install Vista, so it'll be like new?
i just tried, and after about half hour I ended up back where I was. Think it just reinstalled Vista, all data was still...
cheers brun, i replaced the throttle body and pedal with used parts. But i fitted a new blue tdc sensor. I know what you're saying about buying used, but hey i'm not on your average CS wages... The fault was still intermittent, and persisted. It wasn't till i took it to a garage, that i found...
J-Turn FTW in the second vid. Reminds me of the night me and a mate bought what became my first car, a never abused Cortina. We made up for lost time that night and it lapped it up!
Just had a read through my Haynes manual, seems my bumper is missing 'liner under the front wheel arch' and 'splash shield below the radiator...'
Remember when I first had it serviced 3 years back my mate at Renault told me about the splash panel thing...
Does anyone know part numbers or...
Seeing as I've replaced the t'body, throttle pedal and TDC sensor already, the garage were fairly certain the fault codes would have originated from the old faulty units. They tried to get the ECU to register new faults after clearing the faults, to no avail.
I've had every sensor connection...
Battery is fine. Is that throttle potentiometer sensor Chris? I'll do a search now, I've read a bit about that I think.
Immobiliser light seems normal TBQFH!
car wouldn't start again, managed to get it to my regular indie specialist, he did a code read, found some weird codes and stuff relatin to t'body and throttle pedal. Suggested it could be immobiliser... He said i'd already done what they would do and more. Cleared codes and sent me on my way...
Lucky you! I'd quite like a 120d hatch or better still a 123d saloon. Would be really happy with either if it wasn't for the engine eating itself quite often, something to do with the plastic inlets and the turbo. Puts me right off stumping up a fair whack of cash for one.
Tom are you sure it was up to temp? (I know you said you were). It reads oil temp and not water temp IIRRC. Can take a good while to get upto temp' depending on the type of drive.
^Indeed, new fitting kit, new nuts and bolts to attach to centre section, torx bits to remove the engine cover, assembly paste for cat-centre section, NOT manifold-cat, patience (lots of it) and an assistant with small hands, ideally a midget. I got the gf to help me.
It's not the most...
Wouldn't start at all last night, then this morning started first time! I've checked every connection to every sensor now, one of the ones to the plenum was oiled up, the coil pack connections seem fine, but I've cleaned them etc...
The car starts immediately now,.. just know it'll let me...
it won't start at all now. Management light on, turns over, won't kick in. Fuel pump can be heard priming yeah. Yesterday it wouldn't start when warm too. But ran fine when it did. No fault codes either... I've already replaced the t/body...
Mine is de-branded and without it being so the s/w wouldn't be up to date, as the networks always take longer to release their firmwares.
Whenever I debrand mine, there's no need to enter settings other than email.
All sensor connections seem fine,.. Clean and secure.
Could it be a relay? Fuel/pump related? Started fine from cold today, but then wouldn't start again, then started when the management light went out...
It's doing my nut in now!!! The gf's £500 banger starts better.
i'll check the ecu dave... Which sensors chris? I've not checked lambda, but all others seem ok. I.A.T's connections are fine, but it is loose in plenum, but has always been
