Hmm, no one knows or cares, so here is a follow up for those who may be interested.
As mentioned, the splitter had been snapped through and repaired before but the joint had been filled with black slicone solvent by the previous owner and looked a bit ugly (I don't mean the previous owner)...
I had exactly the same symptoms as you are describing, it turned out to be a low votage (3v) on one of the two feeds to the ECU, I didn't do the diags. myself so can't be specific, but it could be a dirty connection in the plug or socket (ECU side), there are some electrical cleaner aerosols...
Hi
When I aquired the car (182) the splitter was cracked in the centre and previous owner had done a bit of a botch repair with some black silicone stuff?
Didn't bother me too much as I had other things to sort.
B*gger - caught it on a kerbing and it seperated at the centre and is asking to...
Thanks for the reply Mike, but my specific query relates to the LS6046 and it's 48cm overall length - wondering if the lead will reach the chassis connector OK?
I am about to replace both lamda sensors on a 2004 182.
I have already one Bosch LS 6046 unit available, and I will require one more , so my question is - is this part suitable for both front and rear sensors, I know the actual sensors are the same, but are the lead lengths differrent?
This...
hi Guys
Can someone confirm....
Elf Evolution SXR 5W-40 is OK for the F4R 738 engines?
On the Elf site it says this oil is specifically for Clio 2.0 RS, but when I look at data sheet. it says this oil is for Diesel engines, not sure what difference is between Diesel and Petrol engine oil...
Whilst on the subject, can anyone say for definate if the wheels are covered in leather, or is it some substitute material, if leather then what causes the deteriation as leather is usually quite resilliant.
Not much feedback on this - have not seen anything recent on here about re-trimmed or otherwise, should I remove it and go for a rudder or joystick then?
Hi Guys
Need a replacement steering wheel for a 182 (gone ugly - sterering wheel - not me!)
Must be original or at worst retrimmed to orignal spec.
What are the possibilities?
Secondhand?
New Renault Parts dept?
Retrimmed to original spec?
Not even slightly interested in...
Thanks - found it in 6.02 but the layout appears very different on mine!
So it is not all that useful, however probably can make some inspired guesses if no one knows.
Cheers Clancy
This has probably been covered elsewhere, but you guys seem and amiable crowd so wont mind answering my specific questions.
Think I have discoved the paint code on drivers door pillar and states TEJ41 - guess this is Arctic Blue J41 (if so what if any is the significance of the TE prefix?)...
Thanks for the links Steven, very interesting info.
I see that the 'Cup' launch date was September 2004, this one predates that by six months, so must clinch that it is not a 'cup' model (when asked by insurers!).
The stripes are about three months old, can't say much about this, I agree - they look a bit boy racy, and my racy days are 40yrs behind me
How to remove them without detriments?
But may keep them for sentimental reasons, still undecided....
I understand that they were also an option on the 'blue'
Thanks for all the input
One more thing you knowledgable guys could advise me of (sorry I have lived a sheltered life)
Oooh - no spare wheel, so what happens when tyre is punctuated?
Very interesting stuff on the insurance
When I enquired at my insurance brokers - they did ask about the model being a 'Cup' variant but how the hell would I as a new owner know if it wasn't for guys like you?
I guess thats a good thing then, huh?
reg. 2004 but high mileage, still looks pretty good, what about the stripes should I keep em or not? (I'm a mature driver!).
Sorry guys no pics yet
It does have Xenon lights and washers, half leather seats and a/c, the above mentioed guide although useful is a little vague on the 182 'packs'
Just to add, I measure the height to the front lowest point of the sill and it is 153mm, not sure where ride height should be measured though!?
The car is in original condition as far as I can tell, the previous owner meticulously maintained it, the only thing is, that my son recently added...
Thanks for the quick reply
It has got the 'grey' wheels and look original how else to tell about the suspension pack, not sure about the size of the spoiler, don't know what a 'splitter' is though?
I haven't driven the car as yet!
Hi
As a new owner, I not too familiar with this model
Is there an easy way to tell what 'packs' I have fitted e.g. how to tell if it is a 'cup' etc.
It only states on the reg. doc. 'Renaultsport 182'.
thanks.
Thanks for all the replies
Still undecided, the Scorpion RS192 looks a good buy and stainless, but have also heard it does not fit well, but wonder in what areas does it not fit?.
All other alternatives I have looked at do not seem to fit the bill, either cost or design (or both)
Still...
