Not starting an argument, maybe personal preference but I took advice from various sources including Turbo Dynamics so thought I'd pass on the research I did when I was doing my first conversion.
Agree the coolant is moving but the syphon effect will have less air flowing through the turbo so...
Glad you got your car back safe and sound. Brakes issue is a strange one.
Were they working fine before the conversion? Sounds like something is not right since you rotated it or the heat from the down pipe has melted a seal. What heat shielding have you went for?
I ended up wrapping the...
What you're seeing is expansion and air pushing coolant around not syphoning as you can syphon with an air gap at the top of the header tank. Laws of physics unfortuately.
I wouldn't do this as you don't get the syphon effect when the engine is off. This is when you want the coolant to work as the oil will cool it when the engine is on.
Best place for me is from the heater matrix. If you have forge or samco hoses it is very easy as you take it from the bypass...
They would only collapse on the suction side of turbo if they were too flimsy but 3 or 4 ply silicone is the stuff to go for. More likely to blo them off at the joints unless they have swaged ends.
Here's the one I use.

Whats the big deal with bonnet pins?
Youd need to use very short trumpets which defeats the potential torque gains and makes them very expensive for the performance gains.
Do ecotune do install and mapping of standalone ecu's? Thought they only did generic reflashes.
Another vote for Russ at PHQ. Very good name for Subaru and evo mapping but can do Omex too.
Clioturbo day should be at a trackday somewhere as that's what these things should be built for.
Guess he's sorting out some niggles before posting up?
I don't see a problem with a 31 year old owning a 1.4 Clio. Each to their own and all that and if it works for you then fair play.
I do however find it baffling that you'd want to modify it to make it no faster and just make people ask why would you do that.
