Second engine or pick up a banger to use for a few weeks is the way to go.
Seems like a lot of engine work for a daily driver imo.
It’s going to be difficult to make something more powerful without sacrificing some of the reliability as a general road car.
Have you considered an lsd?
Since I’ve just removed mine figured you might find this helpful.
It’s glued on however if you wait until the roof is hot from the sun it comes off easily.
Does seem like a lot of effort, cheaper to just buy and fettle a new one off eBay.
Or even cheaper grind out the middle of a couple of nuts and weld them on.
Jack the back of the car up, the abs sensor connections for the rear are both near the flexi brake lines.
Might need a friend to help spin the wheels.

Forgot to update this cameras up and seems to be working alright has already deterred a few people sniffing around need to adjust it to the right a bit more when I get my ladder back.
Removing the heater box I’ve got the bolts out from under the scuttle are the any from the interior or does it just pull out?
Asking before I break it trying to get it out.
