it's possible.
171,6 at the WHEELS , throw an equation of 15% transmission-loss on there and you'll get a very healthy power. More likely is 12% loss though
Maupinedia (if i'm correct with spelling) on here has them. Supposably the same profile as Colombo&Bariani cams which i have. They worked out VERY well on my Cup
engine mounts are weak/wear quite quickly (all 172's) The engine will be rocking around a lot , play in the gearstick and sluggish throttle-response when you have worn/broken mounts
There are nice uprated ones for sale though, siffer ones which make a sporty drive.
I changed mine on my Cup...
Ahh i was just reading up and reacted in another thread about an idler ! So a 172 Cup does'nt have one !? i thought it was just the tensioner it does'nt have..
Sorry for a bit of a hijack ;
Can the idler pulley get noisy /whiney after a while ? Or even stall/break ? When they did the cambelt on mine i think they did'nt do the idler, they just threw on a new aux belt only...:(
Is it a small/affordable job to "correct" this; do JUST the full...
that is a rule i trie to live by ! Except me Cup has been having bad cold start-ups, where i need to use the pedal to keep her going. This has gradually gotten worse and my thought was dirty injectors. Since a 200 mile drive with the shiz in me tank the startups have improved and idle has...
^^ cheers lads
Normally i would'nt use additives but i read the stuff is used here by a lot of dealers, AUDI(VAG) + Porsche for example and they get very good results with it. It's called Tunap, one treatment costs about 20p.
I would'nt use anything to chuck in the engine/oil for example...
You will definately be happy , it's a "first" mod to do when having an RS
You will probably notice a more free-revving enginebehaviour, driveability improved
inlets from factory can be very poorly ported/machined , some more machining to "match" them to head + eachother can bring up to a shocking 10+ hp (recorded in one case!)
generally when having an early RS it is one of the first mods to do
yeah every time i drive it i go to the red, it's good for cleaning valves etc. and keeping it "loose"
But with the additive , i'm thinking it might not be safe to be pulling to the limiter and having good fun ? worried here ...
Fred , Henk ?
I put in some quality German stuff , on a full tank. After maybe 70 miles driving round with it i noticed when red-lining it it began to splutter at high revs/ hold back !
It just happened again .
I guess i could be some "dirt" coming loose, but is it safe to thrash it like you...
^^
mine took ehh... much longer
But i guess because of living alllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way in HOLLAND it was a good excuse ? He will never learn, good ol Ben
Hi there ! wrong place to introduce yourself i believe, seeing the amount of reactions you're getting.
Yeah they are fun cars with good grip to throw around ! Mine has more power, made it lighter and i can really say it's a lot more fun than my former Subaru !
Have fun with the...
remap for starters not really neccescary, just further down the road when doing air-intake it is best to get max out of setup.
Hold on, you have a 182. I have read that plenty of 182 drivers did NOT benefit from the decat because of a much better OEM exhaust setup from factory. Supposably...
