I replaced my system with a milltek cat back a few months ago and I can't stop the blowing from the cat to center pipe joint , I used a new gasket and initially paste but I since changed that to loctite 5920 high temp silicone and it's still blowing ( not as bad) Any ideas? Do I need to...

1k worth of work - no way! not if you buy smart, belts & dephaser etc will be under £400 @ a specialist (maybe a bit more becasue of the air con) - all the other bits (bar brakes) are not show stoppers and can be done at a later date

thats expensive - considering the NWP is £62 and only missing the oil. The Evolution stuff is £30 max (£90 all in delivered) - thats without scouting the internet for cheaper prices etc Plus money on top if you want to do the gearbox oil
