what did you do in between removing it (when it fit) and greasing it (when it didn't fit)? also - what was stopping it from fitting? there isn't a lot that can get in the way i don't think :)
right bit of an update on this, {tail between the legs} basically i got in touch with them about the above exclusions for cups (after no mention of it on paperwork) and it is true :( they categorically do not cover the cups in any circumstances!!!!

I have heard that mentioned on here before, i will check the paperwork when it comes through, however its listed as a cup on my current paperwork
best bet is to give them a ring i am guessing rather than going off the website
As above, been getting quotes recently on the cup from the usual compare websites - quotes were hitting £1200 ish
Tried the specialists like Brentacre, Sky, and Adrian Flux - best price was around £900

Agreed – if he again decides to have a bad day and takes it further with council / police etc you need to have your “house in order” so to speak with the decat fitted (&insurance) – you get my drift? This is IMO but it would be sensible incase they do any digging.

pressed metal arent legal, as soon as you start chopping and messing around with sizes (even a little) you will draw attention to it and if the coppers want to nit pick your car you have given them the ammunition IMHO
when i fitted sportlines to mine they dropped the front a tiny bit and raised the rear a little - meaning the clio now sits much better, ride is slightly firmer and the handling (as always) is brill

I am with Greenlight (well Highway through them) and they were massively more competitive than anyone else at renewal time last year (that was on an import impreza though) - we will see what they come up with this year but i have been with them 2 years and they have been brill.
Most people will advise to jack on the sill at the rear to give free movement of the beam - i wasnt happy doing this as would cause damage, you can get away with placing your axle stands on the section where the beam connects to the shell - this still gives up/down movement in the beam.
