Bought a Milltek off a member on here and fitted recently, cant believe how quiet it is, quieter than the blowing pattern part i had on before - not a complaint, its a good quality system and it now sounds how it should, just a bit quiet :)

springs are easy - well they were on my cup as you dont even need spring compressors :) if your going to keep the car and fancy a decent brand go for eibachs - these were cheaper than getting new from RUK
i would advise against getting a cheapo pattern part exhaust as i had trouble getting mine...

at a gues i would say the noise levels between mild steel and stainless will be similar (same design) + however for a bit extra (£230 vs £299) you can get a stainless jobbie
they are limited by the ECU when cold, sometimes mine runs like a kangaroo other times its fine
However yours sounds a bit more serious than that if you literally have no go!
mine is very lumpy on some days but as you say when warmed up its completely different , its very hit and miss though because some days it will be fine in the morning after standing all night and then be very lumpy when i come to leave work - 8 hours later

i got mine from Kam a few weeks back - very fast delivery and the best prices around! They dont lower much (i fitted sportlines to my cup) but firm the ride up a little and with the 5 year guarantee you cant grumble

Thing is i did it a few months back on my mates car and must have wasted so much time dicking around with the spring compressors on the strut before undoing the top nut & didnt realise they were not needed :(
