Not always - mine came off easy enough providing you get some weight on it. It really is an easy job to do the discs & pads & fluid providing you have a trolley jack, 4 axle stands and a decent socket set

sounds like you have the wrong one for your car, i wouldn't bother with fabricating to get it fitted just go back to the seller and tell them your problem
