If you have a 172 and bend the rear beam im an accident, struggle to find a 172 beam, just buy a 1.2 beam (for about 50% cheaper) and transfer all the brakes, stub axles across etc.
Im aware the RS has a tickers ARB but there is absolutly no noticible difference in handling at all.
Nathan :)
nah i just had a duel filter mask... or held my breath if it was a small job.
My compressor is a 3 year old Airmaster 12cfm, 50ltr, 2hp
My gun is a DeVilbiss GTIW.
takes alot of practice to get a smooth finish from the gun, but most of my work I flat and polish afterwards.
spend your money on a decent gravity fed gun, a compressor needs to have a good cfm rating, with a water trap, all my kit I have cost £500 and ive sprayed 7 cars and loads of little jobs with it too. I have a 1.5 and a 2.0 nossle.
machine mart is pretty good for compressors, mines a £300 jobbie.
Trust me it is! and its only in the last 5k that its started to show its age. But I am still on my first clutch so thats a tesitment to how I treat it :)
Last time it was cleaned was when I had it professionaly detailed, nearly 3 months ago.
Standard ph1 172 with 96k on the clock, just changed the sparks, oil and a N/S driveshaft too. Was going to sell it to get a Vee but being an estate agent, im broke. but I now own it outright so slowly...
Taken from Jim White at Detailing World.
Today’s task was to tidy up the 350Z, and turnaround the Clio 172. I knew I had my work cut out, and probably being a bit optimistic but hell, who doesn’t like a challenge.
Arriving an hour early I got on the case straight away.. The forecast said...
Fitted one at the weekend, just for a laugh while I was helping a mate put his engine back in his car, my conclusion:
Wow, gear changes are so much more precise and smooth.... but my god it rattles and vibrates the car to bits! for some strange reason tho it has solved a vibration I get on...
The banging will be 'axle tramp' when your wheel spinning.
Any Vibration on hard acceleration (without wheel spinning)(this mostly happens in 1st) will be due to worn mounts causing the exhaust manifold to come into contact with the subrame making a loud 'vibrating' 'rubbing' noise.

Hi
I recently had my passanger seat stiched up after an airbag went off... but its not the best and you can tell its been stiched, can you buy new covers from Renault?
nathan
Hi all
I had a passanger seat air bag deploy (but thats another story) a while ago, seat is all fixed and I have a new airbag in there too but I still have the serv and airbag light on, do I need to replace the module or fix it etc. My OBD reader cant find a fault. tensioner is fine, it was...
Drive smooth.... wheres the fun in that ;)
well ive just purchased some medium compound 195/50/15 R888's for the front, will let you know how I get on using them as a road tyre... or they'll be an RIP thread in general chat next week.
Nathan
yep I do get through tyres quite badly. I dont think R888's are really suited to my driving style but I just want to see what there like.
cheers for the info :)
yes, that would be my driving style, plus the roads I drive everyday.
I run 32 psi front and 30 back in my PE2's i have on at the moment and the same when I had the Parada's
so from cold I should set them to 32 front and 30 back? Ive read about setting them lower than that.
