Are you sure about the 12mm, cause this would mean 1,2 cm !? A reallllly thick washer
My Renault specialist said that in the track cars they have also encountered this and they welded two half moon shapes, almost like these washers, on there !!
watertemp sensor
Engine has a limiter programmed in it for when running cold so it holds back when cold. I've read a lot about faulty watertemp sensors that can cause these sort of probs ; when ecu thinks engine is cold, it will hold back
try/change it and see what happens, Can't hurt...
because after pretty much talking + asking about all of it he is really supposed to tell me.
You ca'nt ask as much money when selling modded cars; at least here you do'nt
"my reaction to buying a tuned car of which i thought was a virgin."
this is a nice read about GDI , seem like a great bunch of serviceminded people.
However; why do the moderators leave this thread alone , leaving it here in the Engine + gearbox section, while i remember some people doing the same (yep me too) , appreciating-thanking K-tec for example; and...
Me too, the difference it made to the Reno recommended stuff was quite noticable ; with the Elf i could really hear my engine when cold, put in the Motul and no noise whatsoever anymore !!
I'm basing that on what he just told me. The best man is a Renault specialist who's had his shop doing all kind of Renault sports since '78 . I would'nt know how it looks/what to look for..
He also told me not to worry (cam-job wise) when i was on the phone like this ; "ohhh no"
This was...
Dug up my old thread to notstart another one ;
Just called the specialist who is doing the cambelt/cam change service and guess what; He had it all open to change the cams + inlets etc. and he said the head has been worked on/ported already by previous owner..
I always suspected something...
plenty to be found with the search button . i just did and found my old one , also found plenty of others

wow, my clutch is on 70k+ , still fine
I'm getting mine done though , togther with cambelt service this week just out of precaution.
30k does'nt sound right to me, speaking of own experience with mine doing over 70k and still being fine. Yes i thrash the car too
I think the Schricks are like 250 pounds more expensive than Cat !? Not slightly more expensive i would say .
Correct me if i'm wrong about the price
Schricks are very good cams, I'm having Colombo & Bariani cams put in mine this week (finally) , also high quality cams. Same price for both...
Andy does have a point, this has been discussed to death..
anyway, you now know the partno.'s etc.
It's a good mod , especially when already having your exhaust done, + mapped for more in+out
they seem to "learn" /adapt but within it's OEM setup limitations. The remap would'nt be neccescary if the ecu would adapt itself to the change in the inlets.
For example, i had a Simota Aeroform and the car never adapted to cope with the large amount of air coming in (was total s**t, lost...
Also you will need a clio cup alternator bracket and alternator.
this info was all send to me by Andy from Birchdown, really helpfull thanks Andy!
I have decided not to go on with it (yet) so ca'nt help you with more details.. maybe you can contact them as they have done a few.
the 1.2 racks...
With regards to loosing power steering!
Renault clio DCi steering rack that incorporates the electric steering is part number 7711135465 priced at £160.81 + vat, that should come with track rod ends.
Because of the modification a renault drive belt is not available, so you need a 6 ribbed belt...
BH 203 is the ITG filter partno. for this box, i got the filterbox from the scrappies/junkyard/brokers , a Espace V6 model 1998 !! , i payed 10 pounds. :D
It can be a bit of a pain , as i've understood from reading around..
Does'nt one of the enginemounts have to come loose to tilt the engine a little for needed working-space ??
Anyone done them themselvs that can varify ?
