Hi, A little more development on the non-start on first attempt. If I just turn ignition on and off and back on again it starts on first crank no problems. What would this suggest? Immobiliser issues??

How painful it is depends if it develops to not starting at all I would say! I'll try cleaning the tdc sensor first and see what happens. Any more thoughts welcome and thanks all for the replies!

Hi To put it simply both the pas and brakes will be getting flushed and new fluid. All my past cars I have worked on had it clear where pas was. Did not realise the brake res was down the engine bay on these!

Hi I have found why the level was not dropping. I had mistaken the pas res for the brake res. Not a very intuitive setup in the engine bay! Not a happy bunny.

Hi. The fluid level didn't drop even when the rear brake pipes were removed but a lot of fluid has come out. I can only guess the abs drained but the valve to res was shut?

Hi Thanks for the replies. I have been unable to get any significant fluid out of the rear brakes today using the bleed methods deacribed earlier. So I put the car on four stands so I can bleed the front axle as well to see if that helps, and then have a go at the rear again. Unfortunately...
