Hi,
A little more development on the non-start on first attempt. If I just turn ignition on and off and back on again it starts on first crank no problems. What would this suggest? Immobiliser issues??
How painful it is depends if it develops to not starting at all I would say!
I'll try cleaning the tdc sensor first and see what happens. Any more thoughts welcome and thanks all for the replies!
Hi all,
My Clio 182 has just developed a fault in the past few weeks of not always starting first thing in the morning after having been parked up over night. It will splutter briefly into life and then stall, but is guaranteed to start up fine on the second attempt.
Having done some reading...
Good evening all,
I've been running my Clio 182 with the twin cold feed pipes disconnected from the airbox (partly because one kept falling off the bottom and the other has seen better days). Granted it sounds a lot meatier with them disconnected, but it can bog down sometimes at low revs...
Good evening,
Yes, wrong res so it ended up dry. Since manually bleeding the system myself and then getting a Renault Specialist to bleed it again, I can say that the brakes were fine before the RS bled them again.
Not sure when the ABS actuator would get air in and prove difficult to clear...
Hi
To put it simply both the pas and brakes will be getting flushed and new fluid.
All my past cars I have worked on had it clear where pas was. Did not realise the brake res was down the engine bay on these!
Hi
I have found why the level was not dropping. I had mistaken the pas res for the brake res. Not a very intuitive setup in the engine bay! Not a happy bunny.
Hi. The fluid level didn't drop even when the rear brake pipes were removed but a lot of fluid has come out. I can only guess the abs drained but the valve to res was shut?
Hi
Thanks for the replies.
I have been unable to get any significant fluid out of the rear brakes today using the bleed methods deacribed earlier. So I put the car on four stands so I can bleed the front axle as well to see if that helps, and then have a go at the rear again.
Unfortunately...
Good evening,
I have seen people talking about the RON 98 Map available via the RS Tuner software / diagnostic equipment. I have not been able to find out much information on it though. Does it just smooth out the power curve / eliminate Renault's surge feeling at around 4.5k rpm or does it...
Hi Ads
I have been trying both the open nipple pedal down and close nipple procedure as well as using a vacuum syringe (big one for filling land rover gearboxes) to draw fluid. The latter gets a bit more through but not much, the former gets dribbles and air bubbles. Neither produce a...
Hi
Nipples clear as can blow compressed air through them when removed.
I can get dripples of fluid when pumping the brakes with nipples removed. I can get the odd bit of air through the nipples fitted.
I am trying to bleed the traditional way, and starting off side rear then near side rear...
Hi
Just replaced the rear brake pipes but cannot get any fluid or air out of the bleed nipples on the rear brakes. The level in the reserviour does not change either.
Thoughts?
Had a bit if a disaster today changing the rear brake pipes by losing one of the pipe to flexi brackets.
What is the part no please so I can try ordering?
Thanks
Bloke,
Thanks. Double checked the exhaust clamps and found a couple that needed tightening, so it's now pretty well sealed (I think!). No difference in performance though.
Thanks,
Good evening,
I know this has been probably covered lots of times. I am going to either get the factory wheel retrimmed or replace it with an aftermarket one.
It looks as though there are either OMP or Sabelt steering wheels as the common option. Which do people get and with what boss kit...
Hi,
Issue is I am struggling to find the leak. I have not been able to feel any blowing at the joints at idle, as it only noticeably blows under load.
Without having to take the entire exhaust off and sealing every single joint, do the carts break up on these? Are parts of the exhaust known...
Good evening,
My 182 has an exhaust leak which whilst I have had the precat joint replaced with new genuine it still remains.
Main symptoms:
1. Raspy blowing when cold and under load
2. Whistling above approx 4-5k rpm on wide throttle, sounds like coming from below gearstick area
3. Quiet...
Good evening all,
A while back I snapped one of the captive nuts for the undertray, so it just span round.
Where can I get new captive nuts for the undertray fixings?
How are they fitted? Do they just secure and compress themselves as you tighten the bolt up?
Thanks!
Just resurrecting this topic,
The springs on it at the moment are BLACK Eibachs. Googling online seems to suggest that the black ones are Prolines and that red ones are Sportlines. Is this correct?
Does anyone have the standard ride height of a Clio 182 with Cup Suspension so that I may do...
