^This, I agree. I've run without spigots before with no issues. Clio bolts are tapered as should be the wheel holes , so as you tighten the bolts in the correct order and the correct way, the wheels should naturally centralise.
I always have to nip my bolts up after 8-10 laps on track as the...
Assuming you mean the upper left one as you look at the engine bay, you have to take the cambelt inspection cover off as well, about 3-4 16mm head bolts.
Camskill stock them although I just checked and there price has gone up a little recently.
I have been running the Ns2r's as a track tyre for a while now, almost exclusively on the rear but I did try them out at Brands on the front. My thoughts are that as a dry rear tyre they are superb, grip...
As many will tell you, specialist job on these cars, need proper tools. Better off just biting the bullet and getting cambelt and dephaser done by someone who genuinely knows what they are doing. About 500 quid ish inc parts and labour. There are many many threads on this and they will all suggest...
Just received delivery of a set of 4 of these, mainly for the road but may end up trying them out as wets on track as everybody seems to say how good they are.
However first impressions ....the sidewalls are so damn soft, you can just crush them with one hand, doesnt make them out to be bad...
Havent used AO48 but have used 888's with a mix of soft and medium and as you said medium on front and soft on the back is the way to go.
However I would ( and have ) reversed this set up in wet conditions though ( very wet cadwell park ).
Found this on another thread as I was looking myself recently, I believe all ph 2 172's are 23mm for the outer.
Clio Ph1 2.0 16v RS-172: Outer mount - 22mm, Inner mount - 25mm
Clio Ph2 2.0 16v RS-172: Outer mount - 23mm, Inner mount - 25mm
Clio Ph2 2.0 16v RS-182: Outer mount - 22mm...
Dont know how well you checked the one underneath the battery , but the cast aluminium housing that its mounted in ( it also acts a batttery tray ) are known for cracking , usually just above where the very rear bolt is. The actual rubber mount itself might look ok but if the thing its mounted...
Spoke to my boss, he says they ( Abbey ) deal with quite a few race cars and should have no problem setting up a Clio, I mentioned corner weighting, spring rates etc and he nodded a lot. I would suggest just giving them a ring and have a chat . Wouldnt imagine it would be cheap though but if you...
RE. Abbey ...will ask him tomorrow ,I know my boss used to have a 172 Clio himself ( he did a bit of amateur racing a while back ). Will get back to you asap.

Their website suggests that they are up for this kind of...
There's Eurospec in Guildford, not used them myself but I think some on here have.
Also my bosses son works at Abbeymotorsport in Oxted, I know they know their stuff, I could ask him when I'm back in work tuesday , suggest that you want the car properly setting up and see what he says. They do...

As Tom above, have used them 5 times already this year on track with no problem. I am not light on my braking either, went through a set of Bluestuffs in a day at Blyton at easter( this was a freak day as my previous set of blues lasted 3 and a half track days ).
Would recommend the Matt...
I run them until they are absolutely bald, like slicks. They dont last long though, got 3 trackdays out of my current set and I might just squeeze one more day out of them.

Bought these last year, been using them with no problem , stainless fittings £45
They probably would but there is not enough info in the advert to say for definite, although the tyres on them are almost certainly a little too deep. 205/55 would be quite large in the front arch and might well catch on something.
As above , wondering if the driveshafts across the 172/182 are the same. My brother has just picked up a cheap clio and I think the driveshafts are shagged ( not definite yet, gotta have a look at weekend ) .Its a standard 51 reg 172,abs air con etc. There's a set in the classifieds off a 182...
Cant see the Firstline stuff on their site either. They dont seem to give very indepth description of their parts either (i.e length of rod ,as this is the main bit you need to be wary of when ordering tie rods ). My cars a Cup and they come in at 330 mm but I,m pretty sure non cups are shorter...
Micks garage are ok ( might be where I got mine I think ), based in Dublin I believe. The one's I used were Firstline in combination with track rod ends made by OCAP, and everything went together ok, been on about 6 months, 3-4 thousand miles and 5 trackdays. Bought the special tool off e bay to...
No they are not, they are for a TRW steering rack and I believe all RHD clios are SMI,

These should fit...
Nothing wrong with 195's on 6.5j. I've run 205's on 6j and 6.5j.
In reality you can get away with 6j with 195's , however if you're buying brand new wheels and its for the track 7 inch would be the preferable option.
Also 260 for some Team Dynamics sounds fair to me.
As for tyres...
Dont think the Cup has a compensator. Thats why the rear brakes are naff. Track focused car and all that. Was told there is a note on MOT testing stations notes to take this into account but having recently got an MOT I asked the tester and he showed me the DOT's notes on car and it said nothing.
There always seem to be 2 prices on mytyres, the cheap one at 86-90 quid and a higher one at 112-116 quid. I've just saved the cheap link into my favourites. Not quite sure why and for what reason the different prices are but again I can confirm the cheaper ones are normal 888's in GG compound...
I run 888's front and Nankang ns2r back in 195/50/15 with no problem at all. Toyo's in general come up a little wider than suggested ( so the 195 usually measures about 202 ) but its such a small difference you wont notice. And if you are tracking it ...please go with the 888's on the front, the...
Yes I agree R1R do cook up easy if pushed on the front ( I mainly use them as wets ) but from a grip point of view , my opinion is they are better than the Nankangs.
As for longevity, I have now had the Nankangs on for 4 full trackdays and 2 Brands evening sessions including driving to and from...
A mate has the gear linkage kit and he loves it. As Chip says it moves the gearknob nearer and higher so perfect for track work. Not the simplest thing to fit but if you have common sense and read the instructions properly , you should have no problem. Takes a little adjusting to make sure you...
Mine arrived today, dispatched yesterday. All seems good, very nice finish to them , better than some recons I've seen. Same markings on box as the post a couple above this and stamped with the JWL VIA stuff. Only negative is centre caps look a bit cheap. Until I hear of someone who bought a set...
