the serv light will come on along with the ABS,Air bag or headlamp washer level low warning lamps to indicate a fault.
if its just the serv light it should not fail.
for you rear lights disconnect them and clean the terminals thats the main cause on the renaults for indicators effecting the operation of the other lights.
replaced a few regulators now on clios just done my nearside.
as mick said take the door card off unplug the connector put the earth on the door strap then the positive on one terminal then operate the window up if no reading operate the window down if you get a reading then its faulty check...
even if its fitted its not part of the mot test .even if it is fitted and it dont work they can not fail it. the tester can only advise it if he likes.
dont think it will bolt to the block would need a 1.8 or 2.0l box. also proberly find ratios are crap as its not for a sport.
if a 1.6 16v box fits a jb3 958 for an rsi hasthe same ratios as a ph2 172.
a phase 2 172/182 has a closer ratio box compared to a ph1 172.
would need to check if yours...
172 wont make any difference.
there are cams,induction kits,and exhaust systems and remaps available off the shelf even forged pistons and steel rods.
mine went yellow and light out put was reduced. i got some 1500 wet and dry gave them a rub down then followed by some g3 and then waxed them look good as new now.
BET test is a basic emission test has a lower limit to pass and is a lot faster to do.
if it fails the BET test then you carry out a full cat test where you input the car and get the correct values for the car normally higher each part of the full test take longer to do and also include a warm...

when was the last time the oil and plugs was changed?
get them to check the emissions on a non mot program so you can see what the hc and lambda are doing on idle if they wont then
take it for a drive and get them to do a full cat test on it see if it will go through as i gives more time to...
looks like they have only done a BET test even with the figures you got you still wouldnt pass a full test on idle needs to be below 0.50% for co.
the car was hot enough the cat are working fine or it wouldnt of passed the fast idle.
has the car been remaped? dose the engine idle ok?
changed my clutch ,gearbox and flywheel few weeks back. i took the engine out as was also doing the cambelt,aux kit and cams ect.
was easier.
if your cambelts due would be easier to do it at the same time.
