In a last ditch attempt i'm trying something out there and random as a fix for spit inner CVs.
Using a large bicycle tube repair patch (the soft stretchy rubber) and cutting it into a bananna shape I am able to cover a significant area of the small split.
Im going to glue it on as per usual...
I know that the usual way to go is the brackets, belt and alternator from the cup.
Burp has done it a different way using Volvo parts I think and someone else using Saab.
Hope James doesn't mind me borrowing his pics from his thread but why isn't the 5 gtx bracket below used as a cheap...
As above, I know that renault have them down as different part numbers but the likes of bosch have then as the same.
Is there technically / mechanically any difference between the two, could they be interchanged perhaps?
Anyone apart from performanceleads do different colour ht leads for the 1*2?? They have ran out of the ends of them until late august apparantly.
Not looking for blue or red which seem to be had pretty handy from the usual spots.
As above where does one get their hands on a map just so that the car starts and runs to enable it to be mapped properly?

As above, if anyone has the part numbers for dialogies and a price if its there for a accelerator cable pedal assembly and the cable.

Anyone any idea what this fuse controls? It keeps blowing everytime I start the car and try and drive off, seems to have some electrical current going through it when the keys arent even in the car, it sparks when a new fuse is put in and then blows on drive off.

Car decided to stop this morning, luckily I had just came off the motorway and was going around a roundabout.
Heres the symptoms:
- Going at slow speed (20mph) the frequency box starts flashing and I lose all power, revving does nothing

The fuse in the 'STOP' position of the fusebox which presumably controls the speedo, revs, oil temp, fuel and brake light keeps blowing every time I press the brake.
Took me about 3 fuses to realise that it was when I was braking that was the cause.
Any ideas on where to start? :S
Does anyone know how to adjust toe on the 1*2s?? Thought I was running positive camber but after a quick check I think it might just be too much toe-in

Has anyone used a magnetic camber gauge before? Looking at the Sealey ones priced around the £40 mark and thinking it might be handy enough to have instead of paying out everytime the car goes up or down.
Quicky question,
The inner cv boot on the offside driveshaft (the middle boot between the gearbox and brake side boot) has split a bit and chucking grease all over the show, is this a driveshaft out job and replacing the gaiter or a whole other driveshaft number?

Just developed the usual sound of a dephasher pulley on its way out (tractor time, same as how Dr Rollos car did) but what other checks can I do to rule anything else out before I make shapes towards sorting the dephaser??:dapprove:

So im fitting some gaz rear shocks (no opinions on that needed :rasp:) all fine and dandy but the nuts that go on top from the original shocks are ever so slightly too big and just wont catch enough to tighten... are the gaz shock top nuts different or any thoughts on what I can do?

Ok so.... As some of you might know the story behind my 5 door 182, its completely converted with all running gear etc so there isn't an issue with that.
Trying to get RS Tuner to work and in conversation with Henk he says that the airbag computer needs changed to that of a 172 / 182 vin and it...
Because of the engine transplant I have no idea about what the VIN number is from the donor car which I think I need to input for RS Tuner to work.

Ok so a while back I had a problem of the 172 running on 2 cylinders, I had changed the coil pack,HT leats, spark plugs and both llambdas. It was still present after they were changed but mysteriously they just went away and all was fine. Just yesterday the same problem seems to have come back...
