more reliable???
iv had my williams for 8 years. i havent had 1 serious prob with it. the car is 16 years old, i have the full history, its never had any major probs. i go to it, put the key in, it starts. theres no aqueeks, rattles, groans, theres no over rated over priced suspension...
blinkered in what sense??
it won rallys, it won the hearts of the general public. it set a precedent at reno regaining their history of hot hatches, on which they tried to build on. it took them 10 years to get anywhere near equaling it .
all driver aids are fukkin useless.......thats the...
lol....iv driven all those except the r26r. and id say the williams is a more involing, drivers car, i.e no 'aids' like the trophy/v6/r26 the 205 granted doesnt have them, and is a hoot to drive, so is deserving to be in the list, albeit not above the williams.
and you forget, evo had a...
but thats not just for hatches is it?? come on now.....
all round ability is where its at. its the reason you bought the trophy....as u keep reminding us..... and the willy beats it hands down, fairly equal in terms of drivability, but it took reno 10 years to get anywhere near the willy...
at the end of the day, they arent trying to please anyone....just using their experience as professionals to give a factual result.
and they have it bang on.
thats just it tho....the valver DOES deserve to be there, as do many other cars. the lotus sunbeam is a massive omittance imho.
they both DESERVE to be there, nearly as much as the williams deserves to be top of the pile ;)
yes. im not denying that. but how much of how it drives is down to the 'aids' ??
like th er26 round spa, the guy from reno was shitting it cos i was actually trying to get it sideways without all the 'aids' spoiling the fun.
yes for a modern car they are good. id rather have the meg than the newer clios tho in all honesty.
but still.they take away th edriver involvement with all the 'aids'......and thats bad aids btw ;)
aye. but the willy owns it ;) lol
i test drove a proton many moons ago, was tempted when they were new, but didnt think it was much of an improvement on the valver i had at the time, whereas the willy just blew it away.
i wonder how well the newer cars would do if they didnt have all...
saw this list in the mirror today....was chosen by autocar magazine.
the motoring press, who DO know what they are talking about, and get the oppertunity to drive all the cars they have voted on have only backed up what iv been saying for years, as well as others.
williams...
i wouldnt bother with nos tbh. my personal opinion. i wouldnt want to spend £££s on something that only gives gains some of the time, and then needs more spending after every 5 mins of running. bottle refills etc. nos is last ditch effort to extract every last possible 0.1 bhp out of the car...
can always whack the meg valves in the valver head while your at it. and give it a little port/polish. best of both worlds, keep the dizzy and loom off the valver for simple swap
not yet mate....im told theres one apparently on its way to him tho......time will tell.......nice 1 for the offer tho fella..much appreciated.....will let u know asap.
the 260s were rn2002s and the 270s rn 2003s mate.
kent redesigned their cams after my 260s disentegrated....altho they swear there was nothing wrong with their previous design.....hmmmmm yeah alrite...sure ;)
