it got compared against a 197...i personally didnt see any lap times did you??
i also didnt hear tiff say the 197 was better than the williams, only that it was the better car out of the current crop of hot hatches......go figure ;)
yes REALLY granted the bonnet/wings etc arent the originals, you can tell by all the overspray behind the lights etc....btw car was no.0002 strombas mums. ;)
i have the original spare tyres still, again 15 years+ old, michelin hx they still look ok, but i wouldnt want to press on with...
didnt do bad for a car on 15 year old tyres/suspension did it.....yes the tyres and susp are the same ones it came out the showroom with. with newer replacements it would have been even better.
because we will admit that the 17/82 s are a load of s**te. thats honesty for ya
i think u mean this.??
in response to
This thread is no different to all "which is best" threads And I'm not sure how the Williams' drivers are "not biased" but just honest?! That's funny!
ok for us...
lmao..where you all get the 'i own a williams so its the best car ever made' from is anybodies guess.
iv already stated that i believe the proper mini to be the best car ever made.
and no......i dont own 1 unfortunately.
my opinions are based on the cars iv driven, and what i like out...
so because someone prefers to drive an older car means they are a pauper??
lmao
most original cooper s es are worth more than the current ones.......go figure.
when was the last time u saw an old school scort mk1 for example, sell for less than you could buy a 2 year old focus.
granted, it does take away a little from the steering feel. again....dependant on how its weighted depends how much it takes the feel away.
try a proper mini with 2.2 quikrack 10 inch steering wheel, and 165/10 tyres, everything solid mounted and you wouldnt be able to turn the wheel after...
errrrr i think u need to learn about things before you post....PAS does NOT turn the wheel for u. let go of the wheel coming up to a bend....and see how u keep going in a straight line when the road turns left. yeah well done.
i dont mind the cups tbh. at least you have to drive them rather than be almost chauffered in them. just a shame the seats are horrible, and the driving position is the same as the 172s...
ah i see now. how the car drives has nothing to do with it, but how much of a c**k u look whilst driving the new gaylord/hairdressers mini is the be all and end all
typical poseur that hasnt got a clue imo. and the cs sheep jumping on the bandwagon to 'big up' their mates brap...
yes it is...reno's flagship clio, the best of them all alledgedly... bettered by pretty much every lower spec clio in all areas. they look like theyv been ramraided thru halfords for a start.
classic mini....the best motoring icon of our times. the new bmw shite....well..shite
clio....the 182s driving position is terrible, build quality even worse. 5k for a 2.0 ed valver, which would handle better, be quicker, and be more fun than the 182.
escort.....the mk1 and 2s awesome...
hmmm thats debatable.
mini.old or new??
clio....old or new??
escort.....old or new??
golf....old or new??
the list goes on.....and on...
newer is NOT always better.
same power at the wheels as my cammed williams.....cool.28% losses...my very mildy tweeked williams is over 200 bhp......buzzin.
what a load of bollox.
50 bhp increase for a couple hundred quid.....money even better spent than i first thought
lmfao.......rob..u get worse.
give the roids a rest fella.
i suppose i have to ask the govts permission to sell the cars, or to drive them etc?? me being the registered owner/keeper of the cars means nothing?? but then you wouldnt know about being the registered owner/keeper now would...
the williams in question was running tired coilies, an 1800 valver head and a remapped ecu, mapped for when it had the cams fitted. which would be roughly running around std bhp/torque for a williams. if youd read my post properly i never said he couldnt keep up....i said he struggled....he was...
lol....i dont hate the 17/82s ...they are fairly decent cars. but they just didnt move the game on like the legendary williams did, to class is as best hot hatch would be a massive travesty to the motoring world. the driving position is crap, but livable with, the steering weight is non...
errr no not really....cos not ALL williams es have no aids. the later ones do have abs. and its shite. which is why i only have 'proper' ones. no numbers after the williams stickers on mine, and none wanted/needed.
as above, most on here will be too young to really appreciate what the...
