Niall does make a good point, that fullframe images do have a certain 'special' look about them which is hard to quantify or explain.
A quick check on DXO mark shows the D600 has approximately 1.3 stops more low light ability than the D7000. Effectively iso 800 on the D7k would be iso 320 on...
I suppose it depends on what you shoot, if you need great low light ability and/or greater control over depth of field then the d600 makes a great choice. Given 99% of my own shots are at base iso on a tripod with full depth of field I can't see a reason to upgrade to full frame.
I think the cat was entered accidentally! Lol either way. It's a 2 horse race this month. Whilst a car was rather predictable I went for 1 as its a quality shot and shows movement. As good as 8 is and its magazine good! it freezes movement.
I assume its the same toshiba sensor as in the 5200, should be the best crop camera out on the market!
More megapixels = better low light performance! Strange but true!!!
Tom the car lights and the area surrounding them are blown out (pure white)
What you could do is get someone to hide in the car and trigger the lights for a second or so, or a smaller proportion of the overall exposure.
I would say you have most situations covered Luke, that said I use a high quality std zoom f2.8 for 90% of my photos! Just love that range. Although its now been replaced by the Sony Carl zeiss 16-80 which is equally as good but a better range.
I was contacted out of the blue by IPC media a few months back asking to use some of my images in WHAT DIGITAL CAMERA magazine for a mini feature.
They ended up using 4 and they apear in the March edition out today. Pretty chuffed and just wanted to show off:o
Yeah I get the idea of having a small camera in your pocket all times, as for film well the many rolls of slide and neg under my bed (from a day when digital was unheard of) aren't festooned with dust and its only really in the last 5 years that digital has exceeded film quality. I can only...
I think an image should stand in its own right without an excuse being made for it been taken on a phone. An ok shot doesn't become wow just because it was shot on a phone. I know there have been some great shots taken on phones and even some weddings have been shot entirely on iPhone.
I...
I have this when I want to go low profile (I removed the stupid label!) http://www.cameraworld.co.uk/ViewProdDetails.asp?prod_code=PON10L000033&Cat_Code=17&Subcat_Code=119&MANU_CODE=298&Minisitetype=
And a Kata rucksack when on a mission!
