Its hard to pinpoint because some early cars were registered later but generally 2005 on will be an UpdateList. My 182 van was built from an 04 182 and its a TunerList

to be fair I've never tried running without it but it detects the cabin temperature and adjusts the climate accordingly so i assume it needs to be there! You could relocate it though!
All you need interior wise is the temp sensor in the roof panel at the light, the controls in the car along with obviously the heater matrix and heating box etc.
exact same issue on my 182 van, was rear left ABS sensor
worked as normal above 5mph including kicking in when required, no lights on dash, looking at live data on diagnostics showed it wasn't reading any speed though

cup chassis would be a must for me purely due to the LSD. Both for performance and resale, surely keen drivers looking for a hot hatch don't buy these without an LSD????
they do but I liked to keep the oil flowing through mine until the temp had come down although to be fair i always drove it sensible for the last few miles before I was turning it off!
