Yeah I have the bumpers, sidestrips and mirrors done, I wish I had my spoiler done at the time. I did my fog light surrounds myself so I may give the spoiler a go during the summer. Post some pics when you get your wheels.
Matta if its for the kit some 1.2 have 52mm hub spacing not like the common 54mm. If it says that for the springs it may be because of what i mentioned above, the 1.2 will sit slightly high at the front because its so light.
I got a friend to do my colour coding who sprays motorbikes, he did it for £100. Expect to pay over double that at a bodyshop. Monaco blue is very hard to match, in the paint book he had there are 7 or 8 different shades of monaco blue, each time a batch of cars are made it changes slightly.
I cant seem to find any recent pics, the springs have only just settled, I would say the back is spot on but the front needs to go down more, because I only have a 1.2 its really light at the front, I want to try 60mm springs on front and 40mm on rear to see if that looks better.
I think the...
I have a good pic of a black V6, its a members on here but cant remeber whos it is (its been posted by him/her in the past), would it be ok to post it again?
I have apex -40mm springs and my car is still practical, I can get people in the back and my bike on roof and not have problems, my mud flaps have even survived.
Im not sure what it is standard on 172s. On my 1.2 its 52mm and its hard to find a kit that will fit. You could always take the wheel off and measure the bolts centre to centre.
To get the strips off, open the door, then slide the door strip towards the front of the car and then slide the rear strip towards the rear of the car until they unclip, you may need to get your fingers behind the strips to edge them off. Halfords do a good plastic primer and laquer, you can...
You may need some spacers as standard the car has 35-37 offset wheels. The wheels would not stick out enough and may rub especially on the rear arch liners.
Rattling is Renaults way of telling you the car is in one piece, if its not rattling its fallen off. :clown:
I have recently done a similar thing on my Clio, I rebuilt the sunroof handle and did the inside of doors and wrapped the rear headrest arms in black electrical tape to stop them...
I have made a jacking tool out of some wood that spreads out the weight more along the lower sill to take the stress off the crap jacking points. :approve:
The bearings are a b**ch to get out, I have managed to get them out of drums but not discs. If you try to get them out yourself chances are you will damage the discs.
Thats unlucky Jonaldinho, I have never seen rust on a mk2 like that before. Do you live near the sea? It should have a anti corrosion warranty if its got a full service book of stamps.
I have those springs on mine, its fairly straight forward to do, you need some special tools (swan neck spanner for top struts and some spring clamps). There is a guide in the articles section but you need to become a member, it also tells you how to replace springs in the Haynes manual.
