I considered doing mine myself but in the end I paid my loacal garage to change the cam and aux belt for £120. Make sure they get the proper renault cambelt kit in for the car which includes a new pulley.
Just got a phone call, they have accepted liability. They will pay for the part from renault and Ive got to send the invoice with the claims number to them for my money back.
All sorted.
While parked at work a co op lorry decided to reverse into my car, luckily the rear loader on the lorry just prodded my drivers side rear light cluster and smashed a hole in it. The co op insurance have agreed to pay for the repairs by a mechanic of my choice, however can I just get a new light...
The cambelt is a little more tricky, if its the D7F engine though its not that hard compaired to the other engines. There is a guide in the Haynes manual.
Was a little tricky: first of all to get the drum off is a pain, after ages trying to find a 30mm socket nut and the longest bar I could find I finally got the drum off, once off you can see the bearing and it needs pushing out of the drum, I used the 30mm socket nut to push the old one out by...
Yeah they should fit no problem, a few people on here have them on the mk2ph1. I think for a while Renault had the f1s as an option for some of the high spec clios.
Depends if its the front or the back, it would probably cost more for the front. One of my rears went so I got my mate (who works at motor factors) to get a bearing for me, it only cost £20 and I did it myself. (was a b**ch to get the old one out though).
I think you should be proud of whatever car you own, whether its a 1.2 or a 3.0. Renault powered cars have won hundreds of F1 races and won at le mans and the monte carlo rally in the past. I guess when Renault rip you off sometimes some of the profits made go towards the developement of the...
Spotted a black 172 at the bosworth battlefield railway line today and then another black 172 parked further on up, im suire I have seen the car with the exhasut on the site before, anyone?
Not sure what you mean veeron, both the bulbs (high H7 and low HB3) just need 2 wires, the feed and an earth. The feeds being from the original wiring for the H4 light and the earth being from the original earth of the H4 light split into 2.
You may need a new one, I dont think there is a fuse in the box for it. They are located on the passenger side just behind the foglight on a bracket. I damaged mine from going through a deep ford. You can easily get replacements from halfords that sound much better and probably cheaper than...
Ive done the conversion on mine, first of all you can get a wiring adapter made by hella from renault or hella which converts the wiring from the h4 bulb to power the h7 and hb3. However you can make you own adapter using a wiring diagram. All you need to do is split the existing earth wire...
Jack it up a little, undo the screws on the splash guard under the radiator. On the right hand side undo the 2 screws and release the securing clips from the arch liner under the wheelarch then do the left. With the splash guards removed you should see the bumper mounting bolts, undo them...
Its anti clockwise, they will be very tight you will need a long bar to try and wrench it off. When I did mine i got a friend to help, we both almost lifted the car off the stands to get it off.
Remember when putting it back to to either replace the nut or use some thread lock.
Are all the standard renault backboxes for 98-06 clios the same, for example can i fit a backbox from a 2004 1.4 16v onto my 2000 1.2 8v. I know the dci and 172/182 are different.
LOL when I first saw the pic I thought someone had rammed a shopping trolley into your car or something! Reminds me that my car needs a clean. Halfords sell 432 monaco blue and I have found it to be a good match for my car. I used it to colourcode my foglight surrounds but got a friend who...
