I was there a few weeks ago with a forged Megane that made 430bhp. Chris spent over 4 hours getting it spot on and he explained various things and showing us calculations of what he'd expect at a given boost pressure.

I think we've established that the failure on his car wasn't anything to do with mapping. @Allan H i'd have 100% confidence in taking it to EFI. Everytime i go, Chris has always had time to talk to anyone and explain things as he does it.

Things like that you might not see any damage but there could be microscopic fractures, which is why i'd change it if it was me. I'm no expert though.

I would have changed the head personally after the first time the cambelt went. Think it got reused didn't it?

I think yours was the only Clio i've seen that's had valve seat damage. Most of the time it's the valve itself.

Valve seats don't need doing unless there is something wrong with them.

I've not heard of any blowing up from mapping. I doubt yours was down to mapping, it was a valve seat wasn't it?

I'd wipe it out with an alcohol cleaner first and then primer, paint, lacquer. Leave it a day or two and then sand.

Dent man, then touch up the scratch, wet sand to blend and then DA to correct it.

Standard pads should be more than enough, unless they're glazed to f**k.

Have you adjusted the cables on the handbrake mechanism? Give the adjuster a few turns and it should tighten it up. New cables will stretch a bit.

Be worth it though.

Worth running an uprated pad in the rear too on the Octavia.

CL's generate a lot more heat than most other pads i've found.

The PBS's are mega for the Clio. Running them front and rear really does balance it out. I know a guy who ran the DSUNO and DS1.11 in his Megane and said they were identical stopping power wise. DSUNO are more aggressive on discs though and used half the pad in a day.

Just as much risk having no cage at all though. Most cars on track don't have a cage. I've only ever heard of someone getting t-boned once. Racing is a different story.
