There's a brief but useful guide on how to change the power steering fluid in this thread.....
http://www.cliosport.net/threads/power-steering-fluid-change.780266/
.....it says attach a correctly sized hose to the return nipple at the bottom of the reservoir, but I can't see the it because...
, I got the idea from this forum. I tried silicon on my last hanger, but it wasn't'up to the job, high hopes for this new version . When I bought my car it came with with a ridiculously heavy Scorpion exhaust, I reckon it'd be cheaper to replace it with a lighter one rather than all...
Yesterday I fitted cup shocks all round, a new rear exhaust mount (Tiger Sealed for extra durability :smirk:) and Fabia splitter. And it seemed like it rained all day.
Oil & filter today ready for Brands next Monday :smilingimp:.
National Windscreens - ring their 'main' number & you get directed to your local place. I contacted them on @Ads29's kind advice. £186 for the all singing/dancing version with the bracket for the rain sensor & athermic coating.
Something doesn't seem right about their quote, National did mine for £186, including the rain sensor bracket. And my bracket is an expensive metal one :smile:.
I use Rain-X because I picked up a job lot when my local "The Range" were selling it off cheap. It works reasonably well, but needs re-applying pretty much weekly 🙈.
I agree with @dane0, Angelwax H2Go is far superior in it's ability to shed water and longevity .
When you say 'after a track day they seem to lose all bite.....', do you mean after they've cooled down a few hours later? Are they just cold? I think the DS2500 pads need some heat in them....
^ that told me 😂. I was just worried the cut ends would look naff. Having now seen them it's fair to say they look just fine, and if it's good enough for most everyone else.......
It would be nice to keep the original ends now I've seen your pic of the uncut end fairm010, it does finish it off nicely. I'm just not sure there's a satisfactory way of making a join look pukka though.....
I'll probably end up trimming both ends and having a join in the middle 🙈.
Thank you chaps! It does look OK. I was half expecting to see bits of plastic bridging the two sides and was worried it would look awful.
Actually, this has made it more difficult, I was semi-convinced I was going for a join in the middle, now I don't know 🙈😂.
I'll wait and...
Thanks @Fergie606, I think I'm gonna somehow figure out what it will look like with the ends trimmed without cutting it, if it looks a bit gash then I'll probably do what Sunglasses_Ron has suggested and have a join in the middle, even if it upsets loggyboy 😂. The join will probably...
Thanks! So threadlock on the end of the stud in the block, and a nylock nut holding the rail guard in place.
This will help my (minor) OCD, because the existing nut is 10mm and the new nut supplied by the dealer is 13mm :pensive:. I'll replace them both .
Because one of the studs snapped, my fuel rail guard was only held in place with one nut/bolt which always worked itself loose after just a short drive. I've now sourced a second stud, but is it OK/advisable to use threadlock on either or both ends? If so, any advice on which strength?
Many...
I was in a hired Nissan Qashquai, so you probably didn't spot my fellowship wave 😂.
My staff (I was on a worky thing) thought I was bit odd taking a photo of a broken down yellow car. I tried to explain but they just didn't understand 🙈
You know your car better than anybody, so you know all it's little problems & faults & blemishes. Consequently, you get a brief look at someone else's car & it looks mint, but I imagine if you got a longer, closer look you'd spot all the issues!
Still feel your pain though 😢😞!
Friends are watching a bit of hill climbing near Truro and spotted this Subaru Impreza powered V6 looky likey, aptly named Subareno Cliopenza
Sounded great !
There's another Clio there too......
I cracked my windscreen trying to lever the wiper off, all the more annoying since I had a a puller in the shed, I just couldn't be bothered to get it :rage:.
Get a puller !
Thanks!
I've taken it out this morning and noticed it all sounds a bit 'twangy' & 'springy' when turning at slow speed or stationery. On the move over bumps & speed humps there are no unwanted knocks or clunks, and its all seems nice and smooth. Do they take a while to seat & settle in...
These had wear lines on the lower coils too, which implies, I guess, it was like it when fitted to the previous car .
I'll see how it goes over the next few days .
Many thanks.
Thanks for the responses . But do you know whether the coils of the spring are supposed to be touching each other at the bottom, as in the picture?
Sorry, I might have misled you there, I stuck the phone up inside the wheel arch to take the photo.
Here's the gap...
If the spring was broken (too compressed) I guess the drop would be too much rather than too little?
I've just fitted some used Eibach Sportlines and noticed that when I dropped the car back down the coils look like they are touching at the bottom - pic below - both sides look the same.
Does this look right or have I dropped a clanger (duff springs or poor fitting)? The ride height has dropped...
