Just one way to find out. I have a spare of uncutted 197 valves, fit one in a head and measure the distance from a point to grove. Than in the same place fit a supertech valve and measure. If there is a different, I will add shims, if not leave it like so.
But if the valve don't fit as deep...
Basically the only think I want is to keep the standard spring rate as it was with standard valves. Using 197 springs is because I already have a 197 head that will be used on the turbo engine. Also helps me a bit with CR having same chamber volume as 250 megane, just use small gasket to be...
Hello,
I am working on a turbo engine (mk2 clio) and is the time to look for new valves. I read some posts on youtube and find out that collets groove are a bit up than standard valves? That means the springs are not so much compressed?
Does anyone know by how much are up? To can add washer...
That is right. I think a low temp thermostat will be great also. But because I spend a lot of money into parts, if this radiator will be a lot better than stock one I will get it. Otherwise I will keep the stock one.
Hi,
I am also thinking of getting one for my turbo Clio. But for current one is a brand new and if is not a must I will keep it like this. Would be interesting if someone have a temp comparison between a stock one.
Cheers
Put connector for brake booster direct into 197 inlet
Put AN4 fitting for oil feed
Install walbro 255 fuel pump into ph1 housing.
And get 6meters of 6mm fuel hose for return. Now the fuel system is ready for boost:)
I've been driving a cracked coil for 3 year without problems :)).
I think you can get 83 degrees thermostat if you want to keep the temp a bit low.
I will use one because I will go with modine oil cooler.
Just finish the fuel rail end for adding fuel regulator.
Replace the seal on a steering pump and polish a bit the shaft on the seal end.
Port a bit more the 197 inlet for adding 65mm tb. Not a must , but I have a brand new 65mm tb
New cambelt kit for turbo engine
And black intercooler. I know it is not that effective, but will look great.
I choose Gates cambelt kit because of the metal idler pulley instead of plastic.
Hope everyone is home and safe.
Paint some parta for a better engine bay look.
Some strange thing, the aux pulley does not have rubber inside, it does have metal bush and acts like a fixed pulley.
That one was on my previous engine and done around 40k miles without issues and using aircon.
Ready for summer.
Almost all the parts for turbo conversion are here:
ED turbo with Kinugawa actuator
Ebay turbo manifold
197 fuel rail with custom return pipe
PMS regulator housing
AN10 oil return
AN4 oil feed ED
ED water feed
Efi boost module
ED downpipe
KN air filter
ED pipework with 135...
Even if the metal is treated (coated) by threading it a couple of times, the metal will have some points without treatment and by having them a little longer, dust and sand from road will cause bare metal spots and rust will appears.
Well you are right, because at max turn, the hit the damper and wear down the seal. Now I have them for 225 calipers and are fine, a little longer due to banjo connector. I forgot about the last ones.
Interesting, one friend does use them on e megane and they failed. I have in Romania a friend who has all the assembly line and make for me custom ones, they hold up fine. Maybe he is more careful...
