My (best) solution for fitting ph1 airbox using silicone hoses. I have a bigger tb so stock ph1 hose does not fit on it. In this case I was forced to use a 70mm ID silicon elbow. Using just one the airbox fits very tight and I did not like that. Start searching the forums, but no solutions to...
Painting on the aluminium is not that easy, you need epoxy primer, very clean surface (sandblasting will be better) and then some finish coats. But this will not prevent scratching where the bolt head came into contact with bracket and could cause the same issues. If yours are fine now and are...
I don't have acces to a dyno run, as it was mapped remote. I could only see the afr from my car and the differences. In theory the ktec should run leaner. I bought and ph1 airbox, I will also test it.
After some talks with Chris from efi and some google searches, the best performance is at 12.8 to 13.5, but is a little risky to be in that range. Best safe output power is at 12.4 to 12.5. Running richer by only using another intake doesn't mean less air on the same injector duty cycle?
Thanks mate!
Running stock cams with grp n timing. I would use 197 cams with same timing, but Chris could not help me at that moment. Untill turbo, it is great!
Not much of an upgrade, I've done 1500 miles running group N timing and there is quite an interesting setup. I've also installed and AFR meter to can watch a little how does the injectors and intake performs. I am running the stock air box with kn air filter and have a value of 12.5:1 on WOT...
Since the new engine went to another clio for another project, I replace all the seals on my current engine and with this I also replace the clutch and steering rack plus some other bits ready to be fitted with a fresh grp n timing setup.
I have also add a custom 63mm exhaust system, trophy...
Hello,
Can anyone please help me with something? I want to build with a friend a turbo 182 with around 300hp to can keep the stock gearbox. We choose after reading this topic and others the GT28RS. What is the best housing a/r for this application? .86? (or .64?)
So I have to choose .86 housing...
Well, Chris gave me an map for group N to suit my modifications.
I bought an ecu from here that is supposed to be for 197 cams in 172 engine, 7 deg advanced.
The only thing I know for sure is that the map from Chris is genuine for group N on stock cams.
This is why I really did not know what to...
For me is a little problem. I already have paid for a group n mapping at efi and for a 197 map also from efi. The 197 one is only inlet advanced. To pay another map is a little too much at this moment.
Bloke, since now you've done lots of group n engines and see dyno runs, whats your opinion on them compared to 197 cams? In terms of power and idle.
I am asking because I have a pair of 197 cams and I need to remove the rocker cap for reseal.
Cheers
